Fight heavy metal toxicity!

DMSA: Heavy Metal & Mercury Chelator. Modern industry has poisoned our world.

The resulting build-up of heavy metals in the body poses a significant risk to

life and health, including anemia, memory loss, cancer, depression, male

infertility, gingivitis, and maybe even multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's

disease. While cases of acute lead, mercury, arsenic and cadmium poisoning are

rare, they do require immediate treatment. Fortunately though, there are safe

and effective ways to chelate, or remove these harmful substances from the body.

One method in particular is using DMSA, or Meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid, a

sulfhydryl-containing compound that binds to metallic elements within the blood

and helps balance metal factors in the body. DMSA is a potent chelator of

mercury. This water-soluble, non-toxic, orally-administered substance has been

in use as an antidote for heavy metal toxicity since the 1950s. However, recent

clinical use substantiates DMSA's effectiveness and overall safety as one of the

premier metal chelation compounds.

Lead poisoning has long been recognized as a health hazard. Lead has been

historically used in a number of industrial processes, including the manufacture

of batteries, paints, and as an additive in gasoline. Acute lead poisoning

(short-term, high exposure) causes symptoms of abdominal pain or " lead colic, "

cognitive deficits, peripheral neuropathy, arthralgias, decreased libido and

anemia. It can be diagnosed by a characteristic " lead line " at the junction of

the teeth and gums, and by high blood lead levels (over 80 micrograms per

deciliter).

However, the effects of chronic exposure to low levels of lead are more

difficult to determine. Long-term exposure to low levels of lead may result in

the gradual accumulation of lead and the development of a number of disorders

and diseases, including learning and behavior problems, cardiovascular and

kidney diseases, decreased fertility, hypertension and cancer.
