Well, thanks Darcy. I'm really grateful to be able to do this. Usually the weather is much milder here, so it's not usually a big deal.On Sun, Dec 13, 2009 at 4:59 PM, Darcy Ledman <exercise.junkie@...> wrote:

Oh, you stop.  You're digging very deep and riding in some unpleasant weather!  It takes determination and a strong drive to do that!Be proud!Darcy

Darcy, thanks! That means a lot coming from you! If I could swing a 45 lb KB like you, then I would be amazing. :)On Sun, Dec 13, 2009 at 3:46 PM, Darcy Ledman <exercise.junkie@...> wrote:

This week I ended up doing 5 bike commutes and lots of stretching. This week was chilly, stormy and very wet. Some mornings were below freezing, and because of the short days, both my morning and evening commute are in the dark. I was tired by the end of the week. Yesterday was the last day of my work week, and it took me a couple of hours to get comfortable again when I got home. I'm mentally and physically exhausted today. I did not add any KB or strength. I physically couldn't.

I wore a light rain shell jacket made by Marmot. it's fantastic in summer storms, or on days when it's just windy. I needed something warmer. I wore some light track pants because I didn't think they'd get weighed down by the water, but the wind whipped through them while they were wet, especially when I was standing still on the platform waiting for the next train. Brrrr... Exhausting.

I just ordered some nice, warmer gear directly from Marmot through my company. I'm so glad to have fantastic discounts again because this stuff is spendy. In this case I paid 1/3 of retail for this order from Marmot. I hope they ship soon. In the meantime, if this weather continues, I might walk next week because my walking gear is better suited for this weather. I have a long raincoat and waterproof rainboots. I even have a waterproof backpack.

Happy Workouts!

Monday: Bike commute (5 or 6 miles - the route varies...)Tues: Kettlebells and bike commute in the morning (took shuttle after work)Wed: Walk commute in the morning (left bike at work on Tues), bike home

Thursday:Kettlebells (warm up, dead cleans, and figure 8 to a catch) and bike commute both ways.

Friday - Vol 2: Warm up + The Grind + cool down + instruction on squat-style TGU.Saturday - restSunday: stretchingMy right knee has a twinge, so I'm letting it rest. I will probably do walk commutes for the next couple of days. I know the moment when the ache began, and that was when I was going up a hill with my road bike. It's not bad, though. I just want to rest it.

I want to continue with the kettlebells this week. I'll just be careful with the lower body stuff.Happy Workouts!

I loved the variety this week. Crossfit was evil! Thursday's Crossfit was in the park across the street from work, and it consisted of lots of wicked relays. Lots of running. The most memorable drill was when they handed us 20 pound medicine ball. You had to throw it as far as you could, run up to it, throw it again, and so on, until you reach the opposite side of the field. The field was wet grass, the ball was wet and hard to grip, and everybody was falling and getting completely wet and muddy. Everybody was walking funny the next day, and even funnier the day after that. Even the younger co-workers were walking like Red Fox on Saturday.

I'm losing weight!! I forgot my belt on when I went to work on Saturday and had to hold up my pants every time I walked.

3/1/10            rest

3/2/10            5.5

mile Bike commute + crossfit + walk

3/3/10            3

mile walk and Punch at Lunch (boxing)

3/4/10            2

mile Walk  and Crossfit in the Park

3/5/10            2

mile walk (sore!)

3/6/10            CLX

BC3 + 1 mile walk (deathly sore!)

3/7/10            26.8

mile bike ride

Great week. Hmmm I do have a football field right next to me, that particular

Congrats on the weightloss!
