Why I will stop LDN (also MOLD concerns)

I am stopping LDN now. I took it for one month.

Concerned about mold.

3 times I had severe nausea for many hours, followed by

vomiting. It was accompanied by bad sinuses, bad mold, IBS,

diarrhea, and whole-body sweating. I often have low level

nausea (occasionally moderate), bad sinuses, bad mold,

varying IBS, and abdominal / pelvic sweating, but it is

unusual to have the severe nausea and vomiting.

The third time, I just could not vomit for a long time. A

strange type of non-vomit-feeling partial regurgitation was

easy, but it wasn't much. When I finally did vomit, the

stomach contents were large, despite not eating for hours.

I wonder if there was some type of delayed gastric emptying.

Benadryl and licorice failed to make a dent in the nausea.

I don't know for sure that it is the LDN that caused that,

but it seems likely. I have heard of people getting viral

symptoms on LDN, and perhaps pushing through it is correct.

But this time it felt like the right thing to do was to

stop.

I am concerned about whether LDN is appropriate for people,

like me, who have SEVERE mold issues. I have been taking

Lamisil tablets (for 10 years), Nystatin tablets (for 5 or

so years), and caprylic acid (for a couple of years).

Despite that, I have mold in the lungs that cause chronic

cough, frequent bad sinuses (shows up on MRI and CT) and

many other mold symptoms.

I don't want LDN to make that worse.

My dosage:

- I take Benadryl every other night

- On Benadryl nights, I can take about 1.5mg LDN without

bad experiences during the night. Perhaps I could do

more.

- On non-Benadryl nights, I can take about 0.5mg LDN

without experiencing migrating pain through the night.

I don't think I could do more.

I had brief periods of feeling an effect that is logical to

attribute to LDN. It was nice, but brief, and not worth the

other times.

I felt some kind of effect the other times. Hard to

describe. Maybe as if the receptors were still blocked, but

at this dose, I don't know if that is possible. (Our bodies

do vary, however. Perhaps some people do not metabolize the

drug quickly enough.) I felt a slight lessening of

allergies, a kind of less-pleasant Benadryl feeling, without

a positive effect on mold.

I might restart LDN later, but want a good reason.

I don't know for certain what diseases I have, but I fit

severe (bedbound, /very strict/ Canadian criteria,

definitely less than 10 on the Bell scale) M.E. and Lyme,

and there are other strong possibilities, including immune

issues. I am concerned that there appears to be little

information about LDN for these conditions in particular --

and for mold issues. I was not able to do enough research

to confirm.

I definitely believe all the people who experience an effect

on VLDN. Whatever study showed that d<1.5mg has no effect

can't have been right for everybody.

I don't buy the idea that we know that LDN is safe and can

only have a beneficial effect, especially when it has not

been studied for one's disease. However, when you are

desperate enough, it is only logical to consider the cost /

benefit of LDN. I tried it. Did I try it enough?

If any of you want to address the mold issues or encourage

me to stick with LDN, please do. I would like to learn more

directly from you who have experienced LDN.

A: " You only think it's dark. " [CDC has denied a deadly disease for 25 years]
