Guest guest
Yes Yes YES!!! Jessie. dear girl, hurry to a true LLMD. Oh, tell us you went, and that you listened, and let us hear your victory recovery. It will give all of us great joy to have helped you. But you should be seeing someone who sees patients with these diseases everyday and knows how to properly diagnose and treat them so that you don't end up in the hospital or like the rest of us here haunting this list. Most LLMD's are likely to be reasonably equipped to deal with other conditions, but other docs are NOT well equipped to deal with lyme. In fact, they are usually grossly MIS-informed, and the likelihood of misdiagnosis and or undertreatment are high if dealing with tick bourne diseases. Guest guest
Hi Guys, Quick update - I am feeling a teensy bit better - at least the fever is down after 4 days on DOXY. I am having really bad stomach pain/nausea and tightness in my chest. HAs anyone experienced this? Is it the DOXY or the Lyme?? I see the DR on Monday - I believe they want to do a CAT SCAN - she thinks I may have swollen lymph nodes in my lungs. After that I will ask to see a local LLMD who I hear is very good. Thanks for all of the kind thoughts!!! > >> i can see nothing in our original posters message that indicates his > >> recent fever is due to lyme. > >> everyone is jumping the gun on this. > >> chill out and quit ascribing evrything to lyme > >> -- > >> best > > > william meyer > >
Guest guest
Jessie, 3 things on Doxy...yes, it does give upset stomach. I was feeling very sick this AM. Secondly, and VERY important, the label form the pharmacy often says to take with milk. Milk makes it easier to take yes, BUT it binds with doxy, protein coating the meds. A woman recently was awarded $250,000 from Rite Aid. She took the doxy, as told, and it diminished the effects greatly, and helped her to become a long-term lyme disease sufferer. try to NOT take doxy with proteins, meat, fish, milk, eggs, etc. A little bread, or crackers helps soften the nauseous affect. Good luck sweetie. OH YES!! Watch out for the sunshine, you probably read this on your labeling. It reacts with the sun, and you can get a terrific burn easily. Guest guest
i took 100mg twice a day of doxy for three weeks and had no noticeable side effects. no stomach problems. in fact i found the doxy extremely tolerable and it was the first antibiotic i took in 22 years.... it actually knocked out a long standing infection (20 years or so) tho not the lyme so, i am no longer hesitant about stuff like doxy. -- best william meyer
