Guest guest
There was very clear medical advice given here some months ago recommending avoidance of the ‘sludge’ that comes with dissolving 50mg tablets, because some makes have ferrous oxide in them. This causes problems with iron/ferritin levels and will not help. Many users have stopped shaking the bottle to good effect, me included. Ingesting the filler from Naltrexone tablets is not going to effect LDN's performance nor is it going to harm you. People have been doing this for years. This idea of discarding the filler material is a fairly new one and started by one person who doesn't even use LDN. 50mgs of liquid LDN is rather small and trying to separate the filler particals and 'pure' LDN seems tricky, wasteful and unnecessary to me. I have been giving my girlfriend liquid LDN for a few years and her thyroid condition is under control. I finally have everything, and I have a question--do I need to crush the pill or just drop it in the bottle and wait for it to dissolve? Maybe it doesn't matter, but I want to get it right. > > > > > > Thanks, > > > Becky S. > > > >
Guest guest
I was under the impression that one is to not shake the bottle once the ldn is in solution. The filler does not contain anything good. Put 50ml of water (distilled is best) and one 50mg "ReVia" Naltrexone tablet in the small bottle and let it dissolve with a little time and shaking. Now each ml of water in that small bottle contains 1 mg of Naltrexone. At bedtime shake the bottle, take a desired dose (no more than 4.5ml), chase it down with some water and store the small bottle in the refrigerator. http://goodshape. net/HomemadeLDN. html Art My MS/LDN story/1988 - 2009 http://ldn.proboard s.com/index. cgi?board= personal & action=display & thread=867 -- 's MS/LDN story http://ldn.proboard s.com/index. cgi?board= personal & action=display & thread=804 -- Low Dose Naltrexone Forum http://ldn.proboard s.com/index. cgi? -- > > Hi all, > I have been reading the posts here for several weeks while I have been collecting the supplies to mix my own ldn. Guest guest
for many users, the concern over leaving the filler dregs behind has to do with the iron oxides in the tab. the iron is of particular concern to those with hepatitis who are generally advised to avoid supplemental iron and monitor their ferritin levels. other folks are concerned about their sensitivities to other ingredients of the fillers. for those without hepatitis or some other condition where supp iron is to be avoided, the iron oxides are a harmless iron supplement likely to be beneficial or at least harmless. iron oxides are basically rust. they're widely added to all kinds of meds and supps for color AFAIK. they are produced in a number of colors. they don't really dissolve in water, and tend to sink to the bottom of solution and can mostly be left behind by not disturbing the dregs in the bottom of the solution. > [low dose naltrexone] Re: Art mixing ldn > > I guess a few do, but I'd say most don't. It makes sense to me that some would not want to ingest the fillers.
