My doctor started me on 3 mg. I have stayed at 3 mg, but my doctor does monthly thyroid blood tests.

I am also taking Synthroid and I have not had to change the dosage since starting LDN in August.

*I have an underactive thyroid and have no trouble taking LDN. I take

0.1 gr (100 mcg) thyroid and 4 to 4.5 mg LDN. I've been on that thyroid

dose for umpteen years and on LDN for 18 months. Those with thyroid

disease may need to lower their thyroid dose after going on LDN.

My daughter on 1.5mg 200 mg selenium and a

few drops of iodine for her goiter.

She still gets wakefulness at 1.5 even

after 6 months and has a seriously reduced appetite.

She is 16. In matter of weeks her thyroid

bloods were back in normal range.

Even then we were back at endocrinologist

in December. He told her, ignoring me that there is absolutely no way he would

offer LDn, that he believed she might have difficulty giving it up(because of

the narcotic link?) that no right minded eminent expert would offer it except

if they were happy to lose their license!

When I said that it was great news to see

her blood results back at normal he visibly winced and then proceeded to ignore

me again!

Im surprised your levels have not shifted

enough to warrant a reduction in your thyroxine dose.

I have not had to change my thyroid dosage either, been on LDN since May 2009. 4.5 was absolutely too high for me, caused more trouble than good.I take compounded T3-T4 since Naturethroid continues to be backordered.AmyFrom: Torrey <klcst@...>Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re:LDN and Underactive Thyroid"low dose naltrexone" <low dose naltrexone >Date: Monday, January 4, 2010, 10:18 AM
