I'm wondering if there's any information anywhere about the possibility of LDN causing kidney damage -- especially in that small minority of us in whom it tends to linger and not get processed through the liver in the normal amount of time that it does for most people.I have Crohn's (as I've said before), which is pretty well under control with the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and LDN. But for some months now I've felt like the LDN is not getting flushed out of my body properly. I've lowered the dose to 4 mg., then to slightly less. That helps, but then I get joint symptoms, etc., in return. My kidneys were fine when I started the LDN a year ago, and were fine at my blood and urine tests six months ago, and now they are NOT fine, in fact, they're showing substantial damage. He started LDN and it saved his 2nd kidney. She takes LDN for her Crohn's, which went into remission in just two days, after years of suffering. She is under the care of a kidney specialist, and has had no problem with the LDN at 4.5mg. Apparently people are able to clear 50mg - 100mg a day on detox without causing kidney problems. I would search for something else that has changed, as the LDN is such a minor amount compared to other doses that have been given with safety, including to pregnant women and children. Kidney problems are not to be ignored and can be quite serious, which is why I would examine everything else along with the LDN for where the problem is coming from.
