Hi Faith - the sleep issues usually fade away after a week or so if you can

stick it out. Below 1mg is not really considered to be much of a theraputic

dose so if you can at least stick with 2mg for now it would probably be more

beneficial healthwise. Try taking some kind of sleep aid to get you through

the initial sleep issues. Melatonin maybe or just an over the counter sleep aid

should help.

Good luck!

The optimal dose is considered to be 4.5mg. If you start at that dose or work

up slowly to it will be a personal choice. If, for example, you have MS you may

get stiffness starting right out at that dose and may have to stick with 3mg.

My husband has MS and takes 4.5 with no problems but everyone is different. If

you are somewhat drug sensitive you might want to start at 1.5mg for a few weeks

and then double up and then take three finally. Once you have found a dose you

feel comfortable with, then stick with it and get to healing!

I opted to start low, at 1.0 last October 1st. I've upped it 0.5,

with plenty of time in between. I've just gone to 3.0. The reason

for this is that I have a history of difficulty with prescription

drugs. In fact, the only thing that happened to me was the common

sleep disturbances the first week, but I am fairly frail, so I've

kept the schedule slow.
