I can believe it would have travelled that

far by now. Here in Ireland

we usually reckon to get US

weather after about 7 days.

OT/fallout from volcano health effects

I'm wondering if anyone else is feeling any effects from

the ash fallout from the volcano? I've had a sinus headache since late

yesterday and it continues today. I haven't had this issue in over 14 yrs

and trying to find the cause and this occurred to me. Anyone else

feeling any sinus, heaches out of their usual. I'm in So. Cal. but a friend said

the effects are being felt here. Could this be the

case? Thanks all. joyce

It might explain my little asthma coughs the last couple of days. The

timing would be correct. I haven't been troubled with asthma since I moved

to a place that isn't dusty. It makes sense. --

I just looked up the ash pattern and you're right, it hasn't gotten over

here yet that I can see. I did post a couple of days ago that in the USA

at least we are having one of the worst allergy seasons ever, and that's

probably the cause of the upsurge of respiratory disturbances.

This is to answer a variety of questions posed today.

To those who think the volcano fallout is causing sinus problems, I also

live in southern CA and have a different reason. For the past 2 weeks,

(before the volcano) I have awakened with a sinus headache. This is a

perennial problem at this time of year. With the very changeable weather

and more pollen in the air, I am once again reminded that mother nature

reigns. LDN has greatly lessened my headaches and once up in the

morning, the headache goes away. Before LDN, the headache would last all

day and night and I'd need Tylenol to function.

There is a cold/virus going around that is relatively mild but starts

with a sore throat and degenerates into a cough that can last for weeks.

I had this bugger several months ago. I started to use NeilMed sinus

rinse in order to prevent a sinus infection and I believe it saved me

from it. Whenever I get a cold, I start using the sinus rinse

(obtainable at a drug store). This usually is enough but if not, then a

short course of an anti-biotic may be needed.

I will also repeat that for those who can't sleep by taking LDN at night

(after a reasonable trial), take it in the morning. Good sleep is vital

for good health. Taking all sorts of sleep aids in order to take LDN at

night might be counter productive. Many of them stop working and then

create a rebound effect. Rather than give up on LDN, take it in the

morning. It works for me.

Well, I guess it was my time to get a sinus congestion/headache after being free of those issues for over 14 yrs....thanks to my powerful antioxidants. Whatever the reason, the timing just seemed too coincidental. Oh well. Thank goodness my headache is gone today thanks to nasal irrigation and loading up on Echineaca for a couple days. I forgot what it was like to have a sinus headache, it's been so long.

Well I am not sure about the volcanic activity being a causal agent, but I will say that I work with young children - 5 and under - and a whole lot of them have been having real emotional regulation troubles the last few days.  Even more so than I normally see for these kiddos.  I tend to link things to barometric changes, but the volcanic ash in the atmostphere could have an impact as well.

I know I had an uptick in headaches for a few days.  I was just happy they were headaches and not migraines.

Peace,

Jaxi
