Guest guest
I find this so fascinating so researching it further and thru Ray Peat's article The Great Fish Oil Experiment I emailed him a question I had and received a response from him which I'll post here. Millions of us are gulping down fish oil supps and perhaps doing more harm than good. I know I have so much lower back pain and stiffness for most of my life and these fish oils could be aggrevating things more. Ray Peat is a huge advocate of coconut oil as is the Weston A Price Foundation and many other nutritionists. I use CO every day. "Since I began studying the effects of those oils, I have stopped eating salmon. The fish oils are very unstable and easily oxidized, even if they are fresh when eaten. One study compared the amount of toxic oxidized cholesterol in deep fried meats and poached salmon, and the poached salmon had more than ten times as much as the fried meat. Low back pain is often caused by intestinal inflammation. Raw carrot helps to prevent the absorption of fats, and often helps with chronic pains." So believe it or not, more information for our healing adventures. joyce
