Guest guest
Has anyone ever ordered their meds from Prescriptiononline.com? Jodi's Prograf has been costing $1,100 for 240 pills and this online company says they can send it for $500 for 240 1 mg pills. Her Hepatologist has taken her off Prilosec so that will be $190 less every month. I know we could have gotten that cheaper at the drug store but Miami started her drugs coming to the apartment from Continental Drugs. I guess they use them all the time but if we can get them cheaper we need to. Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Genny
Guest guest
Fantastic! It is frustrating when insurances / medical programs/ etc./ all try to change…I got mad at my insurance the other day when they told me that I NEEDED the Vit K to help me stop bleeding. The response I got was…”Well, we try to keep the costs of the premiums down for companies.” I responded…”Well, of course they do…because if the employee is DEAD the premium WILL be lower!” The rep didn’t take it well! Too bad! Debby [ ] Prescriptions I sent this link to , but now I think that others with problems of getting prescriptions should check it out. Guest guest
I've applied online to pparx.org three times and never heard a word. I recommend the Together RX card at togetherrx.com which gives up to 50% discounts on prescriptions. Also, check each manufacturers website for programs to help patients without drug coverage insurance. Through Axcan, I get my Urso Forte for $3.00 per month. Guest guest
So far the web sites I have checked out don't cover most of my meds because they are experimental or too new but will keep trying.

Guest guest
They send you home with the actual drugs, not prescriptions. If you are being sleeved you'll go home with a 2 week supply of Nexium and some Toradol. On Mon, Jul 14, 2008 at 5:30 AM, castloyale <roboothe@...> wrote: I was wondering.... Guest guest
He didn't give me any prescriptions to fill. gave me 2 boxes of my sublingual (under the tongue - dissolving) pain meds. I then walked to the pharmacy around the corner from the hospital, showed them the box and bought two more boxes to bring home w/me. That way I had 4 boxes just in case I needed them. Not a bad idea to have some on standby for later circumstances also. Guest guest
Oh, I forgot, he also gave me a bottle of antibiotics that I was to mix w/ water when I got home. That way you don't have the liquid ... safety problem on the plane. Guest guest
Hi, There is a system (don't know what its called .. somthing like bulk prescription order), where your GP can give you 12 Prescriptions for the year in advance, but you have to register them with one chemist. You can then just go to the chemist and ask for your prescription each month. I was on this method for a year, and found it to be v good, but then had some doseage changes, so went back to monthly (by post to GP). Now I am stable again, I will be asking to go back on the bulk prescription thingy. I think you can sign up at your chemist to allow them to get your prescription each month from your GP and you just go to the chemist and pick it up. Thanks a > Out of interest, how frequently do other people on this forum have to go for repeat prescriptions? >
Guest guest
My surgery will only dispense 1 month's supply at a time which is a bit ridiculous. Fortunately I can request a repeat online or I'd have to make 2 trips adding to my 'carbon footprint'!!! As someone pointed out those without cars or the internet could take almost half a day to get their prescriptions as our rural buses only run every 90 minutes. I was told the reason behind this 'system' was so the doctor could review dosage and ensure appropriate blood tests were taken regularly. Clearly an untruth seeing as my surgery has only actually tested my bloods twice in 3 years, once when I was first diagnosed and again recently when I complained (again) recently that thyroxine was about as much use as sugar pills. To cap it all the PCT has apparently rejected the dispensary's licence renewal at our surgery meaning we'll now have to travel 8 miles to the nearest pharmacy plus presumably visit the surgery to pick up the repeat prescription first.Progress - not!! Guest guest
Hi Tracey, you're lucky! I only get 1 month at a time so I have to make special arrangements to make sure I have enough for holidays- now that is a real money eater as chemists get £9 for each prescriptions dispensed ( correct me if I've got the sum wrong) > thyroid treatment > From: redharissa@...> > My prescriptions provide 3 months worth of thyroxine at a time, so theoretically I need 4 prescriptions a year. However, my mum's GP's prescriptions only provide 2 months of pills each time, hence her needing 6 prescriptions a year. OK, hypothyroid patients are exempt from prescription charges so our wallets don't suffer, though it IS a nuisance having to make extra trips for repeat prescriptions if you are otherwise stable.> > My concern is that what appears to be a deliberate money-raising ploy on the part of the NHS (charging someone for 6 prescriptions rather than 4), is being manipulated in the media to look like we've become a nation of pill poppers. Guest guest
Hi Lou, Have you talked to the doc about this and asked him/her if you can synchronise it all? > Subject: Re: Prescriptions> > All my prescriptions seem to be on different intervals which necessitates multiple trips to the doctors/chemists.> > Some of my drugs are 2-monthly and some are 3-monthly. > > I wish there was an easier way for doing this for people with long-term conditions. Guest guest
Hi , If your local chemist is a Boots they can automatically source repeat prescriptions- you just turn up at the chemist and there is is every month. I would talk to PALS and see if a review of the dispensary decision can be made. > thyroid treatment > From: vanessa.caton@...> Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2010 09:50:17 +0000> Subject: Re: Prescriptions> > > My surgery will only dispense 1 month's supply at a time which is a bit ridiculous.
