Guest guest
Debbie-- LDN modulates the immune system. It modulates whatever imbalances are there, to the degree that is does work. So my understanding is that if a person needs adrenal increases, the potential is that adrenals will increase. If needed to lower, the potential is to lower. It simply provides the body with an important tool to do its own work of healing in that particular body system. There is absolutely no way that LDN inappropriately raises your cortisol. If it did, it couldn't create the healing that it does. Also, LDN stimulates the body to create more endorphins. Cortisol could be considered the opposite of endorphins in the body-- cortisol creates high heart rate and attention to threats, while endorphins create a mellowness and a sense that all is well. So there's no way that the creation of endorphins actually produces cortisol, in terms of chemistry. What your doctor probably meant is that it has the capacity to raise a person's functioning, whatever is needed. Because that is the fact. People's chemistry is improving overall because of the access to the healing effects of endorphins, which are the body's naturally occurring opioids. This is backed up by research which shows that pain relief after surgery results in improved healing outcomes, speed of healing, completeness of healing, and lack of complications such as infections, plus reduction of chronic pain syndromes which are always a risk of surgery. Here is a sample of the research that shows this to be true: >The effective relief of pain is of paramount importance to anyone treating >patients undergoing surgery.
