Guest guest
Hi :This is my first time responding to the group. I have had lyme disease for 6 years and completed 1 year of antibiotics last September, the last 3 months of medication were IV Ceftriaxone, 2g daily. I started taking ldn 1.5 mg 6 weeks ago and my fatigue, fuzzy brain and balance problems improved a lot in 2 weeks and remain improved. My widely variable blood pressure (high and low) and high pulse rate that is blamed on lyme has not changed and requires medication. No unpleasant side effects were noticed. I am a 71 year old, 5' 8", 135 pound male that was in very good health until getting lyme. My doctor hopes that the lyme is cured and that the ldn will reduce the inflammation caused from the lyme. 20 other lyme patients of hers have taken ldn with good results.Best wishesOn Feb 19, 2010, at 11:44 AM, els029 wrote: Hi I am new to the forum. Guest guest
Hi :The 9 months on various oral antibiotics helped fuzzy brain and fatigue a little but had no effect on balance and heart problems. The IV antibiotics made a much bigger reduction in all the symptoms, but fuzzy brain and balance problems started to getting worse during the 3 months between ending IV antibiotics and starting ldn. I feel better now on ldn than I did on IV antibiotics so I hope my doctor is right, that the lyme is gone and the ldn is treating the inflamation. I know one other person that my doctor treated with IV ceftriaxone and he had major improvements also. Hope this helpsBest wishes On Feb 21, 2010, at 1:04 PM, Unavailable wrote:Hello ,Thank you for your informative Post!I had a Lyme diagnosis in May of 2009. I started immediately on a large variety or oral antibiotics. I moved up to Intramuscular Bicillin injections 1x week for 16 weeks back in October. I am now on a double-dose, but every other week for the next 8 weeks. My doctor has just been skirting the IV prescription and has been opting for the intramuscular. To my point-- you mentioned that the last 3 months were on IV Ceftriaxone. I imagine you also started on various Oral antibiotics like I did. Was the IV Ceftriaxone the medication that finally made the difference for you? I would dearly love to get away from this Brain Fog and fatigue that has been plaguing me for the last few years! I trust my Lyme Doctor, but was hoping he would "Step on the Gas" a bit and get me back to the land of the happily living. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration,Regards, HiI am new to the forum.
