LA Times article, today, re PTSD; theory about what causes it and how early admin of morphine can potentially eliminate it. "Too much of the stress hormone norepinephrine at the time of the traumaticevent causes the brain to malfunction when it records the memory."Early use of morphine "disrupts the transmission of norepinephrine in the brain, either by blocking its release or by preventing it from binding to a receptor."A little trip to Google. Norepinephrine (NE) is also known as noradrenaline and is both a hormone and a neurotransmitter. In CFS & fibro, there is animbalance between NE

and dopamine. NE is low in fibro and more so in CFS. It is connected to the "fight or flight" impulse.Read the article yourself and go to Google. PTSD, CFS, and fibro..It is all interrelated as there are many commonalities. But it is not the same.Barbara Lochner
