Testament to the virtues of LDN

This is so good to read and should be a comfort for all those who expect a

change within weeks. Some get it but some don't feel any improvement for

months. To read stories like this reassures everybody to stick with it.

I heard something too, today. A lady who started LDNN back in September has

always felt that she doesn't see any changes but she was happy that she didn't

get worse either. Good attitude. But today she told me that for the first time

she realised that she hadn't had cramp for ages, something she used to get a lot

before LDN. One accepts improvements without problems but when something goes

wrong we always complain. I told this lady to write it in her diary, then

she'll remember what happened and when.

She doesn't know when the cramp stopped, as she's just not had any for a long

time. So this discovery of an improvement came 4 months after starting LDN.

That's why all the long time users tell the newbies to ride out the

problems, stick with it and don't have big expectations.

Thanks for posting your story, Debbie, and best of luck with your surgery. I

hope you can get back on LDN asap.

let you all know how well LDN has worked for my ulcerative colitis. I started

LDN last Spring and it took a good 4 months to really kick in. It eliminated the

occasional bleeding I'd had and just made my quality of life better overall. In

the beginning months I had some challenges with higher blood pressure than

normal, and hair loss, both of which resolved themselves over many months. My BP

at my last 2 doc's visits was 110/60... pretty good, I'd say!

week or so due to an upcoming minor (but painful) surgery I've got scheduled

next week. I wanted time to get the LDN out of my system so I could take pain

meds. It took no longer than 3 days off LDN before my bleeding came back and

hasn't resolved since. I'm real hopeful it doesn't escalate into a full blown

flare up (and end me in the hospital) before I'm able to get back on LDN. I'm

keeping my fingers and toes crossed! I love LDN... although I'm not looking

forward to dealing with those early issues again... if they do occur.

Hi all,

I don't post much here as I've been doing so well on LDN that I haven't really

thought about it much. But the past week I've had to go off off LDN due to an

upcoming minor, but potentially very painful, surgery. I want to be able to take

the pain meds.

I have ulcerative colitis and it took about 4 months on LDN to really kick in to

control my symptoms. In the beginning months I had higher than normal blood

pressure and some loss of hair (which I'm not sure was related to the LDN, but

it started just days after starting the drug, and continued for months), both of

which resolved themselves eventually. My last 2 BP numbers taken at the doctor's

office was 110/60. Pretty good I think!

The true testament to LDN is that after only 3 days off the drug my bleeding

returned, and hasn't resolved since. I'm really hoping I can get through the

surgery (next week) and the recovery quickly enough to get back on LDN and and

get control over my symptoms once again. AND I hope it doesn't take 4 months to

kick in, not to mention the higher BP and hair loss. I'm keeping my fingers

tightly crossed!
