Avonex and LDN

I have MS, and have been on Copaxone for 8 weeks but have to stop it due to

severe allergic reactions. My neurologist wants me to start AVONEX and said I

could still keep taking the LDN (I take 4.5 mg every night) and it should be

fine. I also have hypothyroidism and on Rx for this too.

My understanding though is that LDN only works with Copaxone and that the other

MS drugs cancel this out. Does any one have any further information on this?

Will it be a waste of my time to take the LDN or should I continue in the hope

that it can't hurt.

Thanks much

Thank you to every one who responded to my post. I think I need to reiterate my

concern. I do not plan on stopping the LDN, but rather was concerned that it

would not be effective with the Avonex. I was hoping to get more information

about if this would help me in conjunction with Avonex, as I know it can be

taken with the Copaxone without any problems of losing it effectiveness, but not

sure about with Avonex.

I realize the side effects are awful, and this is a powerful drug with a slim

chance of working, but too afraid to just take the LDN alone.
