Dr. H in eastern NY state now has me starting on amoxicillin along with

probenecid. This does seem to be one of his typical protocols.

I'm curious about combining the probenecid, typically used for gout, with

the antibiotic. Just searched our archives and nothing came up.

Anyone else done this combo or know why it's done?

Also wondering how long one is typically on this? As long as it works,

or switching to other combos to get all stages of the borellia.

Thanks for any comments you may have?

Hi.

Just answered my own question and I thought I'd pass along the answer.

Probenecid is used to increase the effectiveness of amoxicillin.

bye for now.

The probenecid keeps the levels of penicillins, like amoxicillin,

high in the blood. I think it prevents your body from processing it

and eliminating it or something.
