Guest guest
I just started LDN about 2 weeks ago. Just recently, I have gotten back a hiccup in throat which is persisting I had this same reaction 2 years ago in March, 2008. My family doc, thinking it was GERD, put me on Prilosec then gastroentologist put me on Nexium. I thought these were causing my joint pain in June, 2008 so went off both. I did have an esophagus test which was negative in 6/08, although showed sings of inflammation in stomach. This symptom subsided in Oct 2008 when I went off Nexium but is back again. Only change I gave made is adding MSM 1000 mg, going off doxycycline and starting LDN 4.5 mg Would LDN cause this side effect? I just took 180 mg simethicone softgel to see ig maybe some air got stuck in this area Pat From: low dose naltrexone [mailto:low dose naltrexone ] On Behalf Of Fiona Sent: Sunday, March 28, 2010 9:55 AM low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] New ME/CFS LDN user and new to the group. Hi everybody! I am new to LDN (this weekend) and new to your group. The reason why I have started LDN is for ME/CFS (I mention this because I am aware people take it for different reasons). Friday evening I started with 0.5ml dose, just in case of any problems because I was meeting up with a friend on Saturday (which indeed I still did). Last night I took the 1ml and will do so for a few days. I was told to increase to 2mls after 5 days and then to 3 mls after 5 days and stick with 3 mls thereafter. Friday evening I think I may have taken LDN too early at 9pm? This is because by the time I got to bed, I was in pain. Then I went all laughing and giggly and my husband told me to shush and go to sleep LOL! I felt like a child on a sleep-over. Anybody else get that? Last night on the 1ml at the later time as the last thing I did before going to bed I think I got to sleep before any of this. Needless to say, I woke briefly with a feeling of excitement and sat up. This was a feeling like " I can't wait " you know if you are excited and going on holiday or something. Do I assume this is an introductory side effect? My stomach has been fine and I don't have lactose or gluten intolerance. Although I can get constipated, but none of that so far. Am I right in reading from the side effects info that you don't have a drink of milk near the LDN? If that is correct, how long do you leave it, an hour or something before the LDN? I was advised to only take co-codamols in the day and not wihin 4 hours of taking the LDN. From my brief experience over only a couple of days I think LDN gives you a few symptoms of what you are prone to, rather than new symptoms. For me this has been a bit more muscle spasm and tingling (yesterday).I have struggled getting out of bed this morning, which may have been due to the clocks going forward and also been asleep this lunch time. As I say I think I get these things anyway, but I think it was a bit more so. Is that how you experienced it? Is this a good sign? In terms of these symptoms being the symptoms that in due course, the LDN will treat for me? I don't think things are too un-toward so far, but I don't know if I will have to be more careful with building up my dose or not. Needless to say if that's the case, what's the rush? As long as I get up to 3mls in a few weeks or whatever? The info says to take a nap! I certainly did that! Would you say that LDN pushes you into that due to feeling drowsy when sat downstairs, so when you go to bed, you acutally nap rather than rest? As Pacing and rests are how you manage ME/CFS my routine is to be in bed at certain times of the day anyway, but I am not always asleep. So anybody else with ME/CFS have similar experiences to me at the start? Cheers Fiona.
