I have had chronic Lyme and scleroderma for many years, and I don't know if I will ever really be totally rid of them. Keeping the remission going is very important. I was able to do without antibiotics for several years, but had to start taking them again because my problems started creeping up again....tired, lethargic, hip pain, etc. Now that I have been on mino for several months, my hip feels almost normal and I am getting my energy back. I would imagine it's the same for LDN with respect to killing off bugs and getting rid of toxins, and, of course, the possibility of herxing.

Hang in there!

[low dose naltrexone] Detox Maybe

I found a possible reason for my joint pain and itchy and fevers/chills. This from eHow:Reactions may occur. Detox reactions are common. One theory is that as the LDN regulates the immune system, the body begins to flush out old virus and bacteria that has gone dormant. Many people have an increase in symptoms during this time. Stick with your LDN treatment and ride out the detox. Be sure to drink a lot of water during this time. What reactions have you had? How long can this last? When it is over is it then smooth sailing or are thing to creep up periodically? Will I ever get to the point where people feel they don't even have the disease? Crohn's 10/2008
