Laparascopic surgery usually requires 3 small cuts( one tiny for laparascope and two a little bigger for surgent's hands) instead of one big cut. It is less invasive and recovery usually is faster. But surgery is surgery. General anestetic may be used during surgery, but you may be in pain after and need narcotics. In case of comlications doctor sometimes need to switch to regular surgery from laparascopic. If this unlikely scenareo happens and you were on LDN till last day, narcotics may not work as well as they should or you may get opioid withdrowal effect( really bad vomiting) from it. It may end up being pretty agonizing experience for you. I would recomend stopping LDN few days before surgery just in case you will need opioids. Then, after surgery try to stop using narcotics as soon as you can or do not use them at all if pain is not too bad . Make sure to check with doctors before discharge

narcotics were not used, and you can get back on LDN right away when you get home. I do not think few days off LDN will make any major damage to your health and this way you can avoid potential problems problems in case you do need narcotics.

Has anyone had a laperscopy while taking ldn? I was told for most laperoscopys only general anesthetic is used...no narcotics.Just wondering if any one could share their experience and if thy opted to stay on LDN or stop taking it for a few days before and after the surgery. Thanks,J
