It's been said that to account for daylight savings time, the fail-safe

window is 10pm to 2am.

Some have said it should be taken at the same time every night, others say

it doesn't matter. Various people on this list say they do one or the

other, and still have success. So I think it's one of those things that is

flexible. Maybe ideally the same time makes sense to me, since the body

can experience a rhythm that way. But I'm also a person whose schedule

isn't regular, and I'm not able to comply, and I know many people have said

they don't.

I found a source saying it should be on an empty stomach, and several of

the long-time LDN folks on this list responded that it really does not

matter about the full stomach. The argument I saw was that the LDN is

supposed to be quick-release, and having food in the stomach slows down the

release. But people here say it doesn't matter. With my schedule that

varies a lot, I have to just make the best of it in terms of timing and

stomach contents.

I think " make the best of it " and don't worry too much is what people

usually advise. I definitely think people have a tendency to

overcomplicate stuff like this, maybe because they think it can be

perfected to the nth degree and somehow be more effective, but I think that

needless rules mean that a percentage of people won't be able to comply

with them and wind up giving up on the treatment. So increasing

perfectionism doesn't seem in people's best interest, although if an expert

made a strong compelling argument for any of these I would try to comply.

I'm fairly new to LDN (just since 12/30/09) so I'm just summarizing what

I've seen go by on the list in that time. I do not claim to know the

ultimate answers on this.

Why take LDN only once a day?

http://tinyurl.com/yfmfdxm

The LDN should only be given once per day and never be given before 9pm when

we're off Daylight saving time(fall and winter) and never give LDN before 10pm

during daylight saving time(spring and summer). This will ensure that the LDN is

in the system during peak endorphin production time of between 2am and 4am(the

most endorphins are produced during this time and it is very important to take

advantage of this to stop disease progression). Never give LDN twice within 24

hours. Read the LDN website and read the Further Q and A page while there, it's

an important page and understanding how LDN works and why we take LDN in this

manner is vital. LDN should not be given any later than 3am.

My husband and I take it whenever we are going to bed, sometime between 9 and

midnight. The jar is on the bedside table, and we take it along with melatonin.

We usually have a cup of flavored yogurt or a small snack at the same time. The

LDN has totally relieved by MS symptoms, so this apparently works just fine. I

think that we are making it way too complicated. There are so many more

important things to worry about :-)
