Hi Sterling,

Many of us with various forms of Hepatitis are using LDN with great results - I also have Hep C and have been on LDN since last March. My liver function tests are now normal and my HCV viral load dropped from 1,500,000 to 38,000.

I am on the "Berkson" protocol" of Alpha-Lipoic-Acid (ALA), selenium and milk thistle, along with B complex as well as many other supplements that help support the methylation cycle, such as NAC and SAMe. I also eat primarily organic foods, mostly fruits and veggies - am also gluten and dairy free.

Iron and ferritin are very important in hepatitis, particularly with hepatitis c as many folks store way too much of it in their livers. Ferritin levels should ideally be between 40-60 or at least below 100 in people with hepatitis c - High iron storage is also associated with elevated liver enzymes and many other problems.

There is a group for folks with Hepatitis and it can be found here:

Hepatitis Children & CAM Alternatives

Many people in the group are using LDN with great results - we maintain a database that contains "before" and "after" LDN labwork and we encourage all members to have labs done frequently (particularly viral load) as a way to record the progress of the LDN's affect.

Good luck to you!

I have hep c, stage 3, so I started ldn at 4.5 mg December 1. I need to do what I can to help my liver. I have no symptoms at this time so I do not know if ldn is helping although I will continue to take 4.5 each evening. What I discovered yesterday was that swelling of the arthritis in my little finger has diminished, the pain is gone and the finger is straighter than it has been in 2 years.

And, by the way, thank you. I have learned so much from this group.
