Can LDN be taken with other medications such as tranquilizers or chemotherapy?

How about interactions with alcohol or tobacco?

LDN can be taken along with any other medication or substance, so long as it is

not narcotic-containing. Naltrexone is a pure opioid antagonist and it will

block the action of narcotics. Some examples of narcotic-containing drugs are

Ultram, morphine, Percocet, Duragesic patch and any codeine-containing

medication.

correct and, if so, could someone please provide a link to the documentation? I

would very much appreciate it--I've just been diagnosed with hypothyroid and

very low ferritin (storage iron). I must supplement with iron before I can

successfully treat the thyroid problem. I'm now concerned that LDN may

interfere with this treatment.

Hi Peggy,

I can't answer your question as i don't know the answer to that.

What I do know is that the best & safest way to get iron is from your food.

Lots of green leafy veggies and good quality organic grass finished beef (the

only beef you should eat).

When I get neglectful of my greens, I tend to get low iron.

You might also want to check out New Chapter Every Woman's Iron Support. It is

available at vitacost.com for a reasonable price. Their products are organic,

biodynamic, cultured food products. They have synergistic nutrients to help

absorb the iron and build up the blood. Top quality supplements.

I agree it's so beneficial to eat iron rich foods. I went thru a low ferritin issue some years ago and I tacked a sheet of iron rich foods in my kitchen and the top 4 are: cooked beet greens, kidney and pinto beans, liver and molasses. I've done them all for a while and have slacked off. We need reminders.

PS: I eat refried pinto beans (whole foods) almost every day with my breakfast eggs. So I'm getting that iron food.

Thanks, Sandy. But the problem isn't dietary--I have a great diet, and am very conscientious about it. Right now I need more iron than I can get from even the best nutrition, so it's essential to supplement. Otherwise, I wouldn't even consider it adding supplemental iron. I do use New Chapter products, but that particular supplement has a minuscule amount of iron in comparison to what I need. And I must take care of this iron issue before I can deal with the serious thyroid issue.
