Band 41

Hello,

I was about to say my lyme tests were useless, but was correctly told

by that band 41 (which I was positive for on both tests, IgG

and IgM) is critical . I was also positive (IgG) for 58 and 60. The

research I did indicated that band 41 is usually the first to appear

and read some horror stories of people who tested for 41 and went on

to get very sick. I also read it is common for 41 to be positive in

non-lyme cases. Can anyone give me more info on the relevance of

band 41 (and maybe 58 and 60). I definitely already have a chronic

illness (diagnosed as CFIDS) and got lots of tick bites.

Hi,

I once spoke on the phone with an LLMD who, unfortunately, has retired,

but he was a very good LLMD. He said there is a whole subgroup of people

w. Lyme who test positive ONLY on band 41. At least, he believed it was

still Lyme, and would treat people as if they had LYme with band 41.

However, his Inf. Disease doc colleagues would not treat them. (Big

surprise).

I'd like to give you his name, but he is retired and doesn't talk to

patients anymore. (including me!)

But I found that phone conversation comforting and interesting.

I had only bands 41 and 58, and Dr. D. is treating me for Lyme.

Later I found out I also had 2 strains of bartonella, wh. confirmed a tick

bite!!

Interesting.

Sincerely,

Marie

Thanks Elissa. And Marie. My positives were all only with one + each except Band 34. My husband had many more +++'s. Does that mean that his Lyme is worse? He functions much better than I do.From: "Elissa " <elissarachel@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 8:34:27 AMSubject: Re: Band 41

I believe if more bands show the body is producing more antibodies, which is a

good immune response. Many that test negative produce no antibodies, show the

test show negative.

Good point and that would make sense to me because he is much healthier in general. We both had done German homeopathy for a good long period where they look at your blood with dark field microscopy. The technician always said my husband's blood was much healthier than mine and it was true. Sadly many testing negative are the weakest in immunity. The test for Lyme has

to stick to antibodies.

I priced the dragon software at Fry's Electronics last week. Had to switch over to an ergonomic keyboard (again) because of the carpal tunnel. Dragon software for iMac $150. Marie, do you add a keyboard to the iPad? The program using a PC was much cheaper. Have contacted my hand surgeon and they are finding an appointment for me. I think some of my problem is coming from the neck so may need to have nerve conduction studies done again. The right hand after sx is maybe 25% better is all and doctor thinks it should have improved more. I agree. I thought I needed neck surgery but don't know if they will do it.From: "healinghope" <mfrreman@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 10:24:56 AMSubject: Re: Band 41Got a ipad2 the dragon is a app, free. > > > > > > > > I signed up to donate plasma, so we will see if I get a response. > > > > > > > > Band 41 > > > > > > > > http://stevensponauglewordpress.com/?p=703 > > > > http://www.publichealthalert.org/Articles/jamesschaller/western%20blots%20made%20easy.html > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > >

No keyboard it comes with keyboard on screen. The dragon app is free with ipad2.

To insert links you just touch finger to link select all, copy the paste. Same

with dragon it types , touch copy and paste. I have tos, will not have the

surgery so restricting activity.

I have been diagnosed with tos by a renowned physician. Lyme has left me with

systemic damage. Not much one can do, except survive. Difficult with the farm.

My long time hand has left for college, deeply missed. The horses are gone and I

will not get a cow this year.

I am so sorry Marie. This is so hard. I just got a call from the orthopedist's office and my appointment is set for tomorrow. At least maybe I can get another nerve conduction study done and some other work to see what is going on, esp at neck level too. It may, like your situation, have been the result of long term systemic damage from Lyme. I wish you could get some help on the farm Marie. I also have hip tendinitis going on which acts up something awful. Today I can barely walk and right leg gives out. Drs have said it is not my hips needing hip replacements. Yesterday was better. MRI said I have disc slippage in low back, but mainly age related osteoarthritis, I think again LD related. I don't want to be one of those people using a walker or cane! My tos could have come from a bad accident years ago, and then years of

repetitive stress at work. Although comp is fighting me and stopped all help.

My systemic damage is more headaches, and arthritic. I hope you find some

relieve. I have resigned to the fact my farm will be returned to the wildlife

and will just keep my small yard maintained. I was ready to retire anyway. Would

have helped financially to have worked longer.

I know what you mean Marie. I wish I had been able to work longer too. Sorry your comp is giving you are hard time. I guess you will have to sell or give away your animals. So sad. Also sorry to hear about the headaches. I know about the arthritic symptoms as mine has been just out of control. I hope you find some things that start to help with the arthritic symptoms. I have not found MSM helpful with those symptoms lately.
