Guest guest
Wow Rose! I'm so sorry your friend has such a hard time. I'm sorry I don't know anything about MCS, but I think I know some people who do know about it. Fibromyalgia (my diagnosis) it is common to have MCS...so I'll ask around, and hopefully I can help you find some relief for your friend. It is great to have such a caring friend...I bet she really appreciates you. Hugs, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity I'm really new at this and need assistance. My dear friend has suffered from MCS for much too long, without any real relief or progress. The usual doctors " experiments " have proven to be devastating and caused set backs which she is afraid to risk again. Recent diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis complicates her painful exisitence. She is almost totally housebound and lives in darkness, due to hypersensitivity to sun exposure. She only takes brief " walks " with a caregiver, if her eyes are totally protected from any light. Most prevalent symptoms are migraines and swelling/pain in legs, feet, and hands, and back pain. Cannot tolerate any chemical/sensory exposure, fragrances, medications etc. and able to eat almost nothing --brown rice and some fruits, vegs, milk in very small portions. Can someone get me started on research into options for this poor soul?? Her fears are understandable, in view of past failed efforts, but she does not want to wait until she is in such a weakened condition that nothing will work and it's too late. Particularly-- anyone who may have experienced the extreme light sensitivity and/or similar symptoms?? Anything that has worked well for you, even minimally?? Recent visit to a new Rheumatologist brought the harsh news that without any sort of treatment, she could " lose 10 joints/year " and be totally wheelchair bound in 15. Leaning toward a type of oral chemo suggested...Plaquenil(hydroxychloroquine)? Any experience/feedback is appreciated.
