My RA factor has been going down slowly

and so has the Creactive Protein. So they have about halves in 6 months and I

hope to get new tests again in a week or so.

Im looking forward to the day I can show

my GP zero results and then let him try top naysay LDN!

progression, so depending on current rate of progression it may be a long time

before any definitive pattern begins emerging. Symptom improvement is a

bonus not everybody is lucky enough to get.

Its possible that the joint pain will not

abate for a long time. I don’t know whay this has been so with me but I

keep goping anyway. I think weitrh me there is a still unidentoified

inflammatory reaction happening and so I still get increased pain particularly

during the hours when the opiate receptors are blocked.

I have early RA. My RF and anti CCP test factors are high but my

CRRP <.1 and my sedrate is a 2 so inflammation factors normal.

I have joint pain being controlled by cortisone shots and daily Aleve.

I went off AP last week which I had been on for 2 months since didn’t

seem to be working.

I took my first dose of LDN at 12 this morning. No bad dreams or

anything for that matter.

Was just wondering how long I may need to stay on it before

noticing some of my joint pain going away.

My family doc said it may take a couple weeks

May I ask why youre taking your LDN in the morning? Very few take it in the

morning - the usual protocol is to take it between 9p.m and 3a.m.

Rather than expect any results in weeks, I suggest you give LDN at least 6

months.

Glad to hear your RF is going down

My GP is great; he has an autistic son so was familiar with LDN.

2 of my rheumy’s hadn’t heard of; 1 of my potentially new rheumy’s

quote unquote said” I don’t prescribe narcotics” I tried to

explain to him that LDN was an opiate antagonist and he said he wasn’t

interested in looking into. ly, I canceled this appt with him. Found out

he has done research for big Pharma for many years on RA drugs.

I intend to still see a new rheumy , even if my joint pain is controlled

by LDN. I had been reading that the pain may subside but may mask some issues.

Does anyone knows what this means?

Only thing I can think about for RA is that joint pain may

subside but joint damage may continue

Anyone with long-term RA who had tried LDN, has it stopped joint

damage?

Hi Pat,

I really think it's important to bear in mind that we get ill over many years on our Western Diet so it's asking a lot of LDN to expect it to work quickly, it takes a while to recover and diet should be part of the recovery programme. Avoiding grains, sugars and lactose and "instant" refined foods is, I think, vital.

Palliative drugs work pretty quickly but can have devastating side effects whereas LDN works by slowly boosting the immune system.

I started taking LDN last September for mild RA and GI problems but after 3 weeks noticed that my Seborrheic Keratosis was shrinking slowly until it totally disappeared... something I hadn't expected at all! The RA symptoms have all but gone now after 7 months. I guess everyone reacts differently and some people find that their symptoms worsen before seeing any improvement. I have been on the Specific Carbohydrate diet for about 12 years now and LDN is a great adjunct to this... I am taking 3mg of LDN on alternate nights. Initially I was waking up several times in the night with a hideously dry mouth... this has now passed and I never had the vivid dreams that others report.. although I was quite looking forward to them!!
