Hi - As someone who has been through the ringer with myself and my family

with third stage neurological Lyme, through researching why vitamins and

" healthy " food does not get absorbed into the bloodstream, here is the

reason. Vitamins are isolates and the human body is not geared to absorb

them. Studies have been done where vitamins have been found in large

quantities in the bottom of septic tanks. To be perfectly graphic, they go

in one end and out the other. The body can only assimilate whole food, which

can properly nourish the five systems of the body. The only problem with

just eating whole food, i.e. organic fruits, vegs, nuts, is that over the

past 10-20 years there has been a tremendous decline in the nutritional

value. For example, between 1963 -1992, oranges lost 2.44% of calcium, 75%

iron, 9% magnesium, 30% phosphorous, 9.5% potassium, 89.50% vitamin A, but

somehow gained 6% in vitamin C. Bananas lost 25% calcium, 55.71% iron,

12.12% magnesium, 23.8% phosphorus, a shocking 57.37% vitamin A, 9% vitamin

C, and gained 7.03% potassium. These are startling statistics and people

wonder why they are malnourished. The impoverished soil in our country no

longer provides plant foods with the mineral elements essential to human

nourishment and health. That is why I sought alternative means to regain my

health and encourage others to do the same. That is why I consume high

quality food grade herbs every day of my life since 1995, and will continue

to do so, as it has given me and my family back our health from a long and

brutal battle with third stage neurological Lyme from 1989-1995. That along

with some simple dietary changes from which I thought was a healthy diet have

turned things around for us. Hope this has been of some help to you.

I have just been told that I have a absortion problem any thing that I take

orally I am not absorbing properlly. Maybe a third if that is actually getting

into my system. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am coming back on all my

test that I am malnutrutioned and I eat healthy and take many supplements. any

suggestions here would really help

thanks, holly

[ ] Celiac

-

My husband was diagnosed as a celiac and has gone wheat and gluten free for

3 years. He has been feeling alot better but also has some problems (mostly

gastrointestinal, optical migraines, aches all over) that are not better. When I

got tested for Lyme so did he, and he came out positive also.

Do you think there is a connection? I was beginning to doubt his celiac

diagnosis since his biopsy came out OK - it was the blood test and his eating

patterns that convinced the doctor he had to be wheat and gluten free. They

blamed the biopsy coming out OK because we were doing so very well on the new

diet - even though they said to " cheat " before the biopsy and he did.

Absorption problem is most likely caused by a processed foods and a white flour

diet, along with Lymes and bacteria that builds up in your body. You system

becomes clogged and you can not digest the nutrients from your food. You should

detox your body with pure foods, juice fasting and colon cleansing herbs, such

as the Arise & Shine program. The only way you can unclog you system to absorb

the nutrients in foods is by changing the way you eat. Do not fall for detox

programs that say you do not have to do this, they are money traps. It would be

best for you to consider a juice fast ( long term) or look up the Lemonade

Cleanse on the web. In fact the lemonade detox is the easiest and cheapest way

to detox. You will need to give yourself plenty of time. Detox, eat pure, detox,

and eat pure again, and again. This is only hard the first week after that it

becomes addictive, when you feel so alive and energized you never want to go

back to old, death habits again. Best wishes.

Yes, I have had the Great Smokies Comprehensive Diagnostic Stool

Examination (CSDA) and it showed malabsorbtion along with dysbiosis.

Also I was found not to absorb minerals in particular. I have just been

told I have chronic lyme, but have been sick for years

and have been exposed to many viewpoints

concerning this condition. Having been diagnosed with candida for years

and CFIDS I just wonder ???I can only assume that we all are carrying

more than one infection. It seems so when your immunity is down. So my

guess is that you may have dysbiosis which may be part of lyme OR maybe

a co-infection.

Great Smokies has a good website (search google). Dysbiosis is an

intestinal infection caused by pathnogenic bugs (yeast, bacteria and

parasites). The toxins poison you and the symptoms are about the same as

Lyme to tell you the truth SO

it's pretty darn confusing. Great Smokies gives you alot of info though.

Their tests are the best I've seen.

I did do some research and you are right it was scary how similar the symptoms

were to lyme. I am going to do my test this week and see what comes up with it.

Thank you for you input I really appreciate it.

Holly

You're welcome. It seems every illness I investigate has these symptoms.

I knew candida, dysbiosis and CFS did, but I just did a search on celiac

disease as someone mentioned earlier that a milk free, gluten free diet

really helped and then I find celiac disease is about the same too! I

suppose one of the reasons is that all these are inflamatory conditions.

I guess most infection are. And almost all bugs put out toxins and that

is what causes many of these symptoms.
