Thanks Holly and PJ,

At the last minute, a few hours before leaving for the Dr.'s office, the

insurance company decided to pull back my approval and review my file

again..........how do you like that!!!!!

I decided to go ahead anyway, so the picc line is in !! I took the risk,

and the $2000 on my credit card !!

I won't know until Monday now if I am approved. Here " MY " Dr says I need IV

and some insurance Dr, is going to make the final decision.....what is wrong

with this picture?? You know what will probably happen............I will be

sent to one of " THEIR " Drs. for a second opinion..........how much you want

to bet? I will probably have to travel to Philadelphia, and see a

different Dr, who will tell me I don't have lyme.......Let's just pray they

trust my LLMD, and go along with her report.

Here I was so excited, approval was immediate, and we were getting started

right away..........I knew it was too good to be true. It couldn't be that

easy.

Holly, my first time with lyme disease I experienced terrible bouts of

sweating, had to get up in the middle of the night and change my clothes,

more then once sometimes. I won't say I was paralyzed in going about trying

to get this accomplished, but it sure was difficult, kind of like in a

zombie - stiff like, staggering state. I also had severe sweating bouts

during the day. I had to bring two changes of clothes to work daily, just

incase. I usually had to change at least once a day. My gynecologist,

strongly believed I was going through the change, and the sweating were

signs of premenopausal signs..........they weren't.........as I slowly lost

the lyme symptoms, and went into remission, the sweating stopped too.

I have a question too beyond the sweating, do you find, that your underarms

(sorry I know this is embarrassing to ask), smell no matter what!! I

shower, dry off, put on deodorant, and even though I am not sweating, within

an hour, I start to detect an odor. I battle this all day long. I find

myself constantly washing my underarms. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm assuming that as the spirochete die off, they are excreted through our

urine.......can they also leave through other glands??

My mother told my brother, about my new tick bite, and lyme disease

infection. He couldn't believe I was going through this again. He told her

I should spray my entire property, so this doesn't happen any

more...........my mom, chuckled a little, I guess she would do that if she

felt the need, but the first tick that made her really ill was picked up

camping in Maine, and this recent tick was picked up on a beach in land

when visiting friends. I guess he thought, this was happening in my

backyard...........not that it can't because I do live with tons of

nature........deer, bear, and mice.........but the two most serious ticks I

have picked up haven't even been in my State.

I know we have a water shortage, but from now on, and the rest of my

life.........I am taking two showers a day..........with a body

brush.......morning and night.........no matter where I have been, beach,

yard, woods, car............its that or I will have to live in a bubble.

I realize that west nile virus is very serious...........but I am getting a

little sick of the high alerts on mosquitoes............and the little,

tiny, alerts on ticks.

When are they going to wake up..........not a day goes by without a

discussion with a student, teacher, or an email about lyme disease.

I have a total of 174 students (went up), I'm going to ask my students on

Monday, how many have had or know some in their family that has had or has

lyme, and then I'm going to ask them the same question about West Nile, I'm

curious their responses. I'll let you know the percentages.

PJ, the picc went smoothly, unfortunately, I wasn't eating too well the last

few days, and had a glycemic attack, after the rocephin and had to stay a

little longer until I got my sugar levels up to be able to drive the hour

back home..........that was a weird feeling. All is well today.

I live alone...........my arm was a little sore, so my mom drove up, and

cleaned my house, and made me a nice meal, and did my shopping.

I have a wonderful mom, and she will be 72 on her next birthday. She could

run circles around me.

Thanks so much........for all your support,

It means so much,

Hi Connie:

I hope it will be ok after all with your ins. since you were just bitten

(again).

Btw, pardon my ignorance, Connie or anyone, are ticks also on beaches even

though it is on hot sand? Or is sand on a beach considered a wet area that

ticks like. You probably wrote this on your post below but I cannot read long

posts.

thank you

hugs,

lea

This sounds like what happended to me recently. I went to the doctor she decided

what she wanted me on. I came home and within hours they were here with my meds.

I had a portacath put in and was ready to go. I did this for about a month and

then all of the sudden I get a call from the meds supply company telling me that

they had made a mistake and I owe them 4000.00. It had to be paid in 30 days.

I was in shock. It took me about 2 months to get things straightened out and I

still do not know how straight things are. Just be careful and If your doctor

demands you need IV that you can not handle oral or however she needs to write

it for the ins companie to understand then you should get reimbursed. I am so

sorry to hear about that. You will be in my prayers and thoughts.

My insurance company denied my PCP's referral for my Mentally Retarded Daughter,

diagnosed with Bartonella, to have an MRI. They said I needed a second opinion.

When I got it they approved the MRI, but still refused to pay for it, because it

was not ordered from my PCP! It is in appeal. How bad can things get?

Bernadette,

I am so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately with the insurance companies things

can get pretty bad. They just approved my meds because my husband threatened

them with a lawsuit.

your daughter will be in my prayers
