ALA is strong antioxidant. The way some of the chemotherapy medications work, antioxidants could make them less potent. Other chemo medications are OK with antioxidants. It is impossible to give general answer, it depends on what exactly oncologist is using and I am not familiar with Italian meds. Dr Berkson is using ALA with LDN, but I do not think he using it with chemotherapy together.Your friend should really try to find local doctor or pharmacist familiar mith natural supplements and check with him for drug interactions. Or just wait till chemo is over and then start ALA.
