It might be simply LDN is allowing your immune system to work balanced. You might have had old toxins that your body has been covering up, based on defensive immune system. When you heal, some say it is a "healing crisis" where you start healing in reverse order ,from many years of problems. If you have been sick, a long time, might take several years, to recover. If you had an autoimmune reaction from your immune syatem ,the overdrive cause the body to over react to attack, and covered up problems. But it causes other health problems. Your system might be working through all of these healing issues.

Q: Dr. JM: Does LDN cause candida?

A: LDN has been noted to aggravate yeast infections and other latent pathogens,

viruses, etc. as the immune system is making early adjustments. It is good to

have natural yeast remedies on board when LDN is started (grapefruit seed

extract, Candex, lauricidin, hi-potency probiotics, etc) to help offset this

possibility. (And of course a good dietary regime that does not encourage gut

inflammation which is usually the predecessor to pathogen invasion).

Hello,

I am reviewing old posts to learn more and ran across this one.

This pertains to what I am dealing with now.

I have ME/CFIDS and started LDN 30 days ago. I am at 4.0mg, ramping up 0.5mg

every 3 days.

I do feel that I am having not only Candida issues but more importantly, I feel

very viral. I am currently on 500mg of Valtrex that I take daily so I am

surprised to have this type of breakthrough. I know every person is different

but I am curious if anyone knows of the average time for the immune system to

work through the pathogens. Trying to get a ball-park feel for length of time,

6 months, 2 years, that sort of thing. Of course, it all depends on the

pathogens one has, rate of detoxification, etc. Just wondering if anyone had

any gut feeling for the length it took them to work through to the other side.

Would reducing my dose to 3.0mg alleviate these issues and take the recovery

slower? I have some big deadlines and will need to be as well as possible.

After the deadlines (October) then I can go through a healing crisis. Does LDN

work this way?

I have to report positive news with my blood pressure. It has normalized for

the first time in my entire life. Always had very low blood pressure but it got

worse (POTS/OI) once I became ill.

Very pleased.
