Guest guest
Hello everybody. I have a question for you all. Kristie has been on heavy narcotics for about the past 2-3 years. She has had an intrathecal pain pump with dilaudid, bupivicaine, and baclafen running for the past year and a half or so. Just recently here at the Cleveland clinic, (about 2 or 3 months ago) she was completely weaned of the pump with no major withdrawals, thank God. She was put on methadone to fill the void of the dilaudid because she was still in tremendous pain. It was a great downgrade from meds to now only being on Lyrica, Valium, Zanaflex and the Methadone. Then we met an angel who is a part of this support group for LDN. She informed us all about it and shared her story with us and now we are on the way to giving it a chance. From the wonderful things I've read, I pray this could actually save Kristie's life. We weaned her off of the methadone but now she cannot handle it. Her pain is intensified and she has tried to cope but just can't. We were told the LDN might not start to work for weeks to months and she can't live with the horrible pain she is feeling right now. She can't even walk again. Our Dr.s said all they could give her was tylenol for arthritis and celebrex. Have any of you had to experience this or know anyone that has? She wants to try this more than anything but cant function without being on narcotics. Thank You, any replies or advice will be greatly appreciated.
