Guest guest
My husband has been aggressively treated for small cell lung cancer and has some pulmonary fibrosis from radiation damage. He is on a 30 day prednisone(sp?) taper to try to help alleviate the cough which may be from the pulmonary fibrosis. He wants to begin LDN (has sent his prescription off) and I just read a message that seems to say that prednisone and LDN should not be taken together. Can anyone address this? He was hoping that the LDN might help prevent a recurrence of the small cell lung cancer. Hi there, I have had NSCLC for four years and initially only given palliative care - not curative. I have been treating myself with LDN. Pred' can be taken with LDN at a low dose - as someone has already told you 10mgs or under. I notice you say he is on a taper so you should soon reach that goal. He might also consider inhaled steroids like Flixotide etc as although there is some escape into the system this is not as much as the tablets. I take a steroidal inhaler and have done for quite a while now. However, although I too have some fibrosis, I never take the pred' tablets which in your husbands case may possibly be because of inflammation, you must also rule out infection (we are prone to them) and perhaps a course of antibiotics would be better? Discuss this with your Doctor who may also suggest nebulising. I f I can help you further please write either via this list or to my personal email address, I also run a lung cancer group if this might be of interest to you....... Celia celia@...
