Candida is one distinct possibility. You can pretty much stop LDN one

night and start steroids next day, but to be safe give it an extra

day. It's the other way around that is more a problem. It's usually

recommended to be off steroids for 10 - 14 days before starting on LDN.

Hi ! I have been on LDN 2.5 mg for MS every other night for a year and been completely fine. But for the last two months i am experiencing symptoms return. According to Dr Zagon, LDN is staying in my body for too long and is not letting endorphins react therefore I have tried leaving 2,3,4,5 days between doses but its not helped. So, as per his advise now I should cut down the dose to half i.e 1.25 mg every other night. The problem is my symptoms have become strong and my left leg has become pretty weak , i can barely walk a few steps now.I am wondering what i should do - Take steriods to stabilize my condition then start with a readuced dose like 1.25 mg every other night or start taking 1.25 mg every other night and see if I improve? Any advise, thoughts are welcome. How long do I have to be off LDN to take steriods ?

Also , has anyone here experienced something like this ?.What could be possible reasons this kind of resistance ..?

Thanks

I'm new here, so I'm just asking a question, not claiming knowledge. Dr

Bihari believes LDN should be taken every night. Is it possible that the

problem is that it needs to be increased, not decreased? --

Any help or suggestions much appreciated. My granddaughter Bonnie is 22 years old and has been suffering a great deal. RG

I'd like to see how long this has been used for Crohn's. Unfortunately, the Crohn's is not Bonnie's problem right now. (She'd been controlling flare-ups pretty well by strict diet.) The interstitial cystitis is really bad right now. She went in Monday for an instillation (where a drug "cocktail" is introduced into the bladder via catheter) and was in such severe pain an hour later that she went back to the hospital where they flushed everything out. That's the second thing they've tried that has been unsuccessful. She went in again yesterday, and she is currently on just oral meds. She isn't saying much, but I know she's very uncomfortable, and I'm wondering how in the world she's going to get through this semester (which starts today). I pray they'll find something that will work for her. It seems to be a lot of trial and error with this condition, and I truly don't see how she's getting through this. If you've ever dealt with the symptoms of a bladder infection, you'll know what I mean.--I'll keep you all posted on her progress as she's going in frequently right now. Adrienne

Hi ,

I was not aware of this second issue, about being off of steroids for 10-14 days

before

starting on LDN.

Does something happen if you go on or back on LDN directly after stopping

steroids?

I thought you could take LDN - while weaning from steroids and down to a very

low dose of those steroids?

Yes, if you wean off steroids (eg. less than 10mg prednisone I think it

is) then that's OK.

Flower child,

Dr. Bihari's advice and mine too would be to get on 3mg to 4.5mg LDN nightly

before you wind up in a full-blown exacerbation and possibly have permanent

damage that cannot be reversed. I am a chronic progressive MS'er who's been on

LDN 6 1/2 years at 4.5mg nightly, have not had 1 exacerbation until I switched

for a short duration to try Dr. Zagon's advice and started worsening big time

again so went back to the Bihari dosing protocol and have had no problems, in

remission of chronic progressive MS 6 years. Take LDN via the Bihari dosing

protocol and you most likely will do fine. Be sure you are not colonized with

candida yeast overgrowth, this could cause you problems on LDN. I keep candida

yeast overgrowth down to a minimum. I only had one problem while on LDN and

that was from my own stupidity and getting off the Bihari dosing protocol. Read

the LDN website and even read the Further Q and A page there too.

http://www.ldninfo.org Do not take LDN before 9pm off Daylight Saving Time and

no earlier than 10pm on DST.

Look at all options. Consider that 2.5mg might be too small and your body has adjusted to this level and the body is not putting more endorphins into your body. The reverse of too much

Also, yeast, body PH, and other problems like lyme or Babesia.

Here's a link discussing d-mannose use for interstitial cystitis (I and

many I've known have used it to wipe out UTIs):

I had an overactive bladder and frequent urinary tract infections.

Dr. Blaivis, a urologist in Manhattan prescribed Methenamine and 500mg

of Vitamin C twice a day and I've been fine since.
