When to take LDN

It does not have to be taken at " bedtime " as that varies for everyone. Take it

between 9p.m and 3a.m regardless if youre going to sleep or not. As far as I`m

concerned it makes no difference at all if you eat before, after or during! My

husband has been taking LDN for 5 years, takes it all different times within

that time frame and always eats a snack of some sort around about the same

time.

I`m sure it will help with many if not all of your health issues!

Someone on one of the LDN groups said if you eat when you take LDN,

it will slow when it gets to work by a bit. Hence the ones who

recommend taking it on an empty stomach. I've tried it both ways and

I can't see much difference, except it's a real chore for me to have

it on an empty stomach because at least near bedtime I still need my

Tylenol and I wouldn't dream of taking even an OTC pain pill without

food. So I try to take that about 9:30 with half a banana but often

forget. If I do forget then I take that at 10 and the LDN more like

11 and I do NOT like an extra glass of water about that time!

Seems to me that OK, maybe food with LDN does slow it down a bit. But

do I care if it gets to work at 3 AM instead of 2? Or 4 instead of 3?

I can't really think I do. Having a cheeseburger with it might make

a lot more difference but I don't do that, just my small bit of fruit.

I'm still taking my 1mg NOW at 9AM since I had a difficult time at night re: sleep. Seems to be working OK but I'll try to switch over to night eventually. I need my sleep and the couple nights when I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep, oh brother!!!! I take it on an empty stomach at 9AM. Just thought I'd mention this...does anyone have any comments on this? joyce

I take LDN 4mg or 4.5mg every morning between 9am and 11am. Night time

dosing always interfered with my sleep. Good quality sleep is very, very

important! Morning dosing works for me.

I've been on LDN since the beginning of Sept. Started at 1.5 mg, now at 3 mg. I take it around 10pm everynight. The only sleepless night I had was the first. Now I sleep deeper than I ever have and feel totally rested no matter what time I get up in the am. Just my experience with LDN.From: JOYCE MARTINO <jam2006@...>low dose naltrexone ; My-Stitches

I understand that some people cant sleep if they take LDN at night Joyce, but

it`s still the majority that take it at night, and the sleep issues USUALLY

resolves after a week or so. When I first joined this group five years ago

taking it during the day wasnt even discussed as it was a definite no, but I

know that things change.

Pat said the first dose was taken at noon so it seems that it wasnt even tried

at night.

My husband has taken 4.5mg of LDN at night for 5 years and has no disease

progression so we are sticking with that!

Cat,

I did take my 1st dose at 12 a.m. during the recommended hours range.

Not sure where you are getting that I took it otherwise?

I do admit it kept me up until after taking 2 Benadryl at 7 a.m. I went to sleep for 4 hours until 11 a.m.

I am going to try it again tonight and hope the sleeping issues are better

I am willing to try it at night for a week and hopefully the sleep issue will subside soon<gr>!

We're only a month into LDN for Crohn's, but decided to try to use it to "reset" my daughter's clock. She has been so fatigued that her sleep cycle was really thrown off. The number of hours of sleep she needs has been reduced to about 12 and she has more energy when she is awake. She also had joint pain that has been reduced. We noticed that the LDN seemed to make her wake up 3 hours after taking it. So we've started to use this to shift her schedule to a more normal (sleep at night) time.
