OT- low body temp

I have been reading on the various groups that low body temp is a common problem

for many people, myself included. Someone posted an article about this and its

relationship to chronic illnesses such as CFS and Fibromyalgia. One of the

therapeutic recommendations by the author of the article included the Amethyst

BioMat, a far infrared (FIR) heating mat.

I'm writing to ask if anyone has any experience with this? It is quite pricey -

well over $1000. It may be worth it though. I notice that when I sit in a

steam room for 20 min, my body temp rises 4 degrees and approaches the 98.6

normal range. A hot bath has similar results. I don't have access to a far

infrared sauna but I imagine this would have similar results. Unfortunately,

the body temp drops down rapidly afterward. I do get some relief from pain and

burning symptoms for a short period after the steam or the tub.

I have also looked at these portable FIR saunas for around $300 although my LLMD

says they're no good and you have to spend minimum of $800 for one.

I am not sure how the BioMat is used - they say they make queen and king size so

possibly people use it under a mattress pad and sheets on their bed. Raising

your body temp for 6 or 7 hours a day sounds like it could be very therapeutic

if indeed it works like that. Looking for any testimonials out there.
