My LLMD practice recommended a low (none is better)sugar, low carb, low fat,hi

protein, no caffeine or alcohol diet. So far my digestion is fine after 8

months on oral abxs. Perhaps it depends on where the organisms set up

housekeeping. I do know many people who's digestive system is not working well

who have Lyme. Is leaky gut caused by Lyme or a side effect of antibiotic

treatment?

time) and always drink load of water. All I do drink is water and herbal teas.

And eat gluten free, organic , everything from scratch diet (for past 12 years).

I think I may one of those people who don't methylate/detox--? That is what a

naturopath is telling me .

I'm wondering if these detox and gluten sensitivity problems existed before the

lyme, or if they were caused by the Bb infection?

I never had such problems until I got Lyme. Developing Lyme takes time, so one

can never really pinpoint when the gut/detox trouble started. I can imagine the

gut gets damaged from antibiotics, and damaging the galbladder with rocephin

will also create problems down the road. But I have heard others who had these

problems already before they started ABX treatment.

I was eating pretty healthy before I got ill, and never had any problems with

gluten, carbs or whatever - I am not 'allergic' now, but if I eat normal bread

for a few days or weeks, my gut starts to protest. Similar issues with carbs

etc.
