Guest guest
If it's sodium chloride, then no, that is not true. If someone think's it is true, then I would love the hear the argument. Guest guest
Others who are more versed than I may be able to supply more detailed info. But there are some medical practitioners who feel that sea salt, which had minerals and trace minerals in is benefical. I think Dr. Batman is one of those proponants. Dr. B is one of the docs who touts the idea of salt not being the problem in high bp, but dehydration. But you need to research this for yourself. I think, Dr. B feels that table salt has a whole different phyisiological response as opposed to natrually occuring sea salts. Also Dr. who wrote " Adrenal Fatigue " writes that sea salt, not table salt is beneficial for adrenal problems. I know the thyroid/adrenal physician I see recommends it. > Someone on this List sent in a Post a few weeks ago STATING > that Himalayan Salt did not cause water retention or high > blood pressure as do OTHER SALTS. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Yes, that is true. I have been using it for a two year period and have found it to be excellent. There is a book out that tells you why it is so superior to others, I will have to look it up People make a brine and use it as medicine on a daily basis. Most people pay and arm and a leg for it...like some times $25 for a couple of pounds. If you go to a store that caters to people from India or Pakistan ask them if the salt in the bag is Himalayan. Many times it is. If you are having trouble getting the salt, I can contact the people I get mine from and see if I still get that great deal I got two years ago. I got four salt lamps, four tea lamps...I think they are the 2 pound kind a couple of 3 hole tea trees and about ten pounds of salt and 5 pounds of salt cubes...or was it the other way around. Anyway, all of this for under $200. Now that is what I call a deal...and that was including shipping. > > Someone on this List sent in a Post a few weeks ago STATING > > that Himalayan Salt did not cause water retention or high > > blood pressure as do OTHER SALTS. > > > > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ > Be a better friend, newshound, and > know-it-all with Mobile. I have listened to several radio interviews he has given and he simply says " salt " and does not specify any particular kind of salt. sol
Guest guest
The real name of Himalayan Salt is Saindhav Lavan. Lavan means salt in sanskrit. Saindhav implies it is from Sindh region. The Himalayan Salt thing is a big marketing scheme started few years ago. Saindhav Lavan is is very old and in India we did not use it for every day cooking. We used it occasionally for few things. Any way in Indian stores you can get this in small packages cheaper than the branded Himalayan type. I personally think there is a lot of hype around it although it's a good salt.
