Hi,

I've been a member of this group since its inception [which happily for me

coincided with my Lyme diagnosis].

Description of group from home page: " Lyme Aid Buhner is a support group designed

for discussing the alternative treatment ideas Buhner talks about in his

book Healing Lyme...Discussion will focus on individual experiences with this

protocol. "

I am concerned that in recent years, sometimes the discussion diverges from this

widely. If you look back randomly, you can see that sometimes dozens of posts

will in response to salt, or Rife, or any of a multitude of other alternative

treatments or suggestions or questions. Sometimes a particular topic, which has

nothing to do with Buhner, will go on for days or weeks.

My problem with this is-

I refer many people to this blog, anyone I meet with Lyme I tell them about the

book, and my experience, and I refer them to this blog.

But sometimes I check in here, and I think-

the person must think I referred them to the wrong group, because there can be

pages and pages of posts which have nothing to do with Buhner.

I am not suggesting anybody police this group for relevance - but I would like

to ask that if people go off topic, they keep it brief.

There are other groups that discuss alternative treatments.

Why not go there instead?

Think about some person newly-diagnosed with Lyme, who may be using Buhner's

book, following his protocol. Remember how when you started, it may have been

confusing or overwhelming. [i know it was for me, and this group was a lifesaver

for me.]

It is not my intention to offend anyone.

I do not at all disparage other methods which may be very valuable. Just to

remind everyone of the mission of the group.

And I'd very much like to ensure that no one who joins this group looking for

help, misses out on the promise of this group.

Thank you

ellen
