Re: Co-infections only? Energy Testing

re: bio-meridian energy test.

I had this done after my blood work came back negative (according to CDC

std's ) for Lyme, the energy test was negative for Lyme too. Dr's failed

to tell me 1 bar was showing up on the bloodwork, they insisted I didn't

have Lyme. After a year of searching for an answer to why I was so ill, a

LLMD did bloodwork thru Igenex and it came back positive w/3 bands and

also co-infections. I was angry that it took over a year to find this

out, but I was relieved to know what was wrong w/me, but now the hard part

is trying to piece my life back together. Any improvement is a blessing.

I believe energy/muscle testing to be accurate for certain things, but it

wasn't accurate for Lyme & co-infections.

did the western blot have positive (specific ) IgG and IgM bands, or just

IgG? With just a few IgG bands you can't be sure of active infection.

I don't believe in 'energy tests', 'biophotons' etc. The science behind

all these devices is bogus. If the test results are correct it is probably

because the practitioner has questioned the patient before testing and has

made an educated guess (symptoms, history of tick byt etc.) as to what

could be wrong.

Often they diagnose multiple infections, because that way you can spend a

load of money on treatment and still feel ill because 'one of the

infections is still not eradicated'. Having so many coinfections at the

same time seems pretty unlikely to me, unless one lives in the middel of

tick country and is bitten frequently.

regarding your own lyme test:

There is always a chance that the Western Blot or will provide a

false negative result (i.e. is says negative while you do have Borrelia

infection). The chance of a false negative with is often over 50%,

with a good western blot usually below 25% but it depends on the exact

test that is used and the lab that performs the test.

I don't think this falst-negative risk is influenced by timing of the

test. However, many factors influence the test outcome e.g. use of

steroids or antibiotics will usually increase the chance of a false

negative. If you have a very weak immune system you may not have an immune

reaction at all so the tests find nothing. On the other hand, if you have

a high Borrelia load and a good immune reaction all antibodies are

complexed and the tests will not measure them either.

theoretically of course it is possible that you get Ehr and Babs from a

tick, and not Bb.

NEGATIVE ON STANDARD WESTERN BLOT UNTIL ALMOST YEAR LATER-

I was tested by Lab Corp in September 2008 (negative for lyme) Igenex tested

and positive for lyme and babesia in November 2008. Fast forward January 2010

received a phone call from County Health Department. They were calling to ask

me questions regarding my positive lyme panel through Lab Corp that they

received from test ran in November 2009. The point I am trying to make is that

it took one year and many antibiotics later to show positive on standard main

stream test and now included in CDC numbers for state of Texas. Press on with

doctors until you are sure in your gut that your diagnosis is right. I never

believed I had lyme disease even though I was in a high epidemic area and all

test results for other things were negative. I did know something was terribly

wrong!

same problems everywhere ... I expected I had lyme right away, but three ducks

insisted it could never be lyme (despite tick byte, EM and many specific signs).

I didn't push on at the time because I knew little about the dangers then (and

had never heard of chronic lyme).

I was refused blood tests for over a year until things got completely out of

hand, and even then they only did the which of course came up negative. I

finally got treatment after nearly two years thanks to a German Western Blot

test; after some months on antibiotics the Dutch tests finally turned

positive as well. Of course the ABX treatment didn't do much because they

started way too late.
