Testtube studies have very limited value in lyme, because the bugs behave very different in the host (e.g. erythromycin is very effective ABX agains Bb in the testtube, but totally ineffective in real life). There have been a few studies that try to simulate biofilms in vitro, but I haven't seen anything convincing yet. Biofilms are strongly tied to the host organism, so you really have to study them in vivo (which is impossible in humans because of ethics, studies in lab animals have their own problems). J Hi All, Hydroxchloroquine is the generic name for plaquenil. This abx is often used in conjunction with another abx in the treatment of lyme cysts.
