Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry that it took so long to respond to your trigeminal question. I have atypical trigeminal on my left side. It can be awful. I notice a tie in to sinuses as well as changes in my infections. Sometimes I feel it is worse with viral exposure as well. I use a bite guard from my dentist to stabilize my teeth at night and prevent any grinding. It was expensive, but I just saw an ad somewhere for a bite guard that can be adjusted and is BPA free. If I run across it I will forward the info. I irrigate my sinuses with a neti pot. I add liquid cats claw to help with any latent sinus infections. I also use a hand held laser to help with flares. I generally run the laser the entire length of the painful area. I make sure that I do not sleep on my left side as well. It is hard because I naturally like to sleep that way. Oil pulling does help. I am really not sure of the mechanism, but it does settle things down sometimes. I also use homeopathic anti-inflammatories as well as pain meds. Sometimes I will use a cayenne cream on my face(very sparingly making sure I don't get it in my eyes--don't do this at bedtime) if the pain is unbearable. Make sure you have a good dentist that can check your bite. Sometimes a small adjustment can make a huge difference. I will even do a castor oil pack on my face. Messy, but helpful. That's about all I can think of for now. I hope that some of this helps. Take care, Peggy
