Guest guest
Is it possible that no reaction to high doses of Samento could mean I might not have Lyme? I'm diagnosed clinically with neuroborreliosis. I was given Cumanda at one point for some related problems and it had no effect on me. I quickly went up to high dose, maybe 20 drops, and it did nothing. On my own I then tried Samento tincture from NutraMedix. I intended to start with a single drop but accidentally put in four. It did nothing. I tried increasing dosage and within a few days took 20 drops. It did nothing. Could that mean I might have something other than Lyme? Incidentally, spinal fluid indicated I've had encephalitis, either viral or bacterial.

I don't think you can draw any conclusion from that. Normally there is some effect, but Samento/Catsclaw basically boosts your immune system, it does not directly 'kill' anything (which could cause a 'herx'). My guess is that some people 'herx' from Samento simply because of the alcohol, not the alkaloids themselves. I would add knotweed and eleuthero for at least a few weeks and see if it has effect, either 'herx' or just feeling a lot better.
