Guest guest
I have been on the protocol for 11 months and I feel better. I could not stop at 8 months as I had hoped because I was still symptomatic. I plan on getting another Lyme test at the end of 12 months. I started on a low dose and worked up to taking 48 pills a day although I sometimes only make it to 36. I will check my records on Monday and get back to you about the costs if you haven't found that information by that time. I was wondering how much it would cost to use the core protocol. cost depends strongly on whether you use standard pills or make your own pills. If you buy bulk herbs from 1St Chinese Herbs, plus gelatin capsules to make your own pills, cost is relatively low. My cost over 1 year averaged out to about 25 euros a months. That includes huge shipping costs to Europe, so in the US it is probably around $25 a month. I have heard from others that if you use standard pills, the cost is $100-200 per month (depends on what additional supplements etc. you take with the core protocol). > Do you have to use the protocol for 8-12 months? I think most people will need to be on the protocol for such a long time, yes. > He says in the book that some people heal by using only one tablet doses, but he also says increase doses weekly; what should you do? increase the dose 1-2x per week, up to the max you can take (or the max recommended by Buhner); everyone is different. Guest guest
Dear Knotweed, Where in Europe do you live again? I think I missed that. Where do you think you contracted Lyme disease? I'm in Netherlands. I got a first byte (most likely from a flea, possibly Bb or Bartonella infection, mild symptoms) ten years ago in my own garden, second byte (tick byte, confirmed Bb infection and severe symptoms) five and a half years ago in the coastal area (dune/forest) near my hometown. The Dutch coast is a Lyme hotspot, similar to the Eastcoast in the US. There are many ticks, and about 25% of them are infected with Bb (in some areas/periods the infection percentage is even higher, up to 75%).
