I did the Rocephrin IV, I was fine on it, no reactions, I wish I could've

stayed on it longer, but insurance wouldn't cover it. (I have issues

w/alot of ABX's, but Rocephrin was fine). I contracted clostridium C

difficile because I was on oral ABX's for too long and I didn't know about

probiotics (Dr's never told me to take them), so I was very ill, one of

the cures for it was Flagyl - go figure. I did very well on the Rocephrin

IV and the Bicillin shots, now I'm on Ceftin which is in the Rocephrin

family, it's an oral ABX, little upset stomach, but I make sure I take

good probiotics. I was having lots of neuro issues from Bartonella, and

it seems to be helping so far. I'm just worried once I stop the ABX's,

are the problems gonna come back. I need to hit it with something else.

Perhaps rifing or Buhner herbs. I've done the salt/c for many mo's, it

didn't seem to help me.

I too am interested in everyone's opinion that has had rocephin. I am

supposed to get a PiCC line in 2 weeks. Please give advise as I am nervous

about a possible reaction. How long before PiCC insertion should we test

it. I am paying for PiCC out of pocket & would like to test before hand.

My doc suggests 1 gram. But is it bad to get 1 gram & them have to wait a

week or so? Thank you.

I doubt this says much. The classic allergic reaction to rocephin occurs

after 10 days ...

I too got clostridium problems after taking oral ABX for a long time (also with

little probiotics, because they didn't tell me). In my case though the ABX was

cefuroxime axetyl plus Flagyl. Apparently flagyl doesn't work very well against

clostridium ...

The C.diff problem disappeared after some months with diet change and Buhner

herbs and extra probiotics.

, how long were you on Rocephin? I was on it 2 months -- wish I could

have stayed on it another month at least. I rebounded terribly afterward. Now

taking Clarithromycin & Bicillin shots.

Hi Kate,

Because I live in CT and my insurance policy is written in TX, they would

only cover 1 mo. of rocephrin IV, if my policy was written in CT I

could've stayed on it longer, I believe if I stayed on it for 3 - 5 mo's

like some people do, I think it would've helped me more. For me, I think

Bartonella is my big issue.

I did the Bicillin shots for 3 months and that helped, I made the mistake

of taking a break, and my symptons got worse, I should've been rifing, or

doing herbs or salt/c or something. I started having neuro issues when I

took the break from the abx's. Now they have me on Ceftin (sister to

Rocephrin) and Biaxcin (which is known to kill bacteria). The Lyme

specialist said a lot of people do well on this for Bartonella (I feel I

should be on a cyst buster too, but he hasn't suggested that yet). I've

been on so many things, I don't know what to think anymore. It would be

so wonderful if insurance co's in all states were mandated to give the

abx's w/o so much red tape, I feel a lot more people would be helped if

caught in the early stages.

Does anyone on this group live in CT (Fairfield County) if so, do you have

a Rife/Coil machine that I could possibly try or get help

purchasing/setting one up? I reside in Stamford, CT (close to the NY

border/Westchester/Fairfield county).
