Guest guest
> In 2005 I had many bands on the Igenex test that indicated I had something going on, but I dont seem to have the same symptoms that many Lyme folks have. you can have specific Borrelia bands in the Western Blot test without that being proof of current infection. e.g. if you only have IgG antibodies (bands), it could suggest an old Borrelia infection that is no longer active. Only if you have specific Bb IgG + IgM bands, and some clear Lyme symptoms, then active Lyme is likely. I would not draw much conclusions from a test from 5 years ago anyway, if you had untreated lyme for 5 years it would probably get a lot worse (with far clearer symptoms).. > What is the difference between abx resistant bacteria ( " superbugs " ) and Lyme? Do you need to know the difference? those are COMPLETELY different organisms, which require completely different treatments. The only thing that is similar is that both are difficult (impossible) to eradicate with standard ABX course. > Has anyone here been healed by prescription abx? I keep seeing people feeling better on teh abx, but as soon as they are off them they are worse than b4. some people are complete cured from Lyme by ABX or herbs, but the longer you have been ill the less likely a complete cure becomes. Often many additional 'lifestyle' changes are required e.g. regarding diet, exercise, stress etc.
Guest guest
If you can find a good Lyme Literate MD, he or she can figure out whether your symptoms and history could be related to your tick bite. ILADS MDs will do a trial course of one month of oral antibiotics to see how you respond. Check out their guidelines online. None of the tests for tick-borne diseases are accurate so LLMDs (esp. ILADS) don't solely rely on them. [ ] Do I have Lyme? ABX or not I soon need to make the biggest decision of my life, and I don't know which way to go. I have an infectious illness, but don't know what it is. When I had surgery years ago I remember having bad OCD afterwards. I think that I picked up a abx-resistant bacteria in the hospital and my body has never been able to kick it. 10 years later I was bitten by a tick, in Connecticut no less. In 2005 I had many bands on the Igenex test that indicated I had something going on, but I dont seem to have the same symptoms that many Lyme folks have. I keep seeing people feeling better on teh abx, but as soon as they are off them they are worse than b4. I wish I could find a good strong alternative " natural " abx plan that would keep these buggers in check. My doc wants me to take Biaxin, Flagyl, and one other...to go after all 3 forms of Lyme. I'm nervous.....it could change my life one way or the other. Tom in Atlanta
Guest guest
Tom, You are welcome to have a copy of my free lyme resource cd. See web site below. I have captured a lot of the community wisdom from folks sharing what they have done for their chronic lyme disease. It might help you to read it. www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > [ ] Do I have Lyme?
