Guest guest
Jim and group, Yes I can place everyone on moderated status and approve all messages before they go through to the list. If that is how the majority of members wants this to work I can switch things over in a day or two. I know you are personally frustrated because your email program does not delete any of the footers or makes it impossible to delete previous messages when you reply. I can only encourage you to look into an email program that will allow you more control over your email messages so that you can do this kind of clean up before your messages are sent to the group so I don't have to do this for you. I don't mind doing this for you, but I know it causes you a great deal of frustration. I do attempt to check the moderated messages at least once a day usually more during the week. Sometimes there are technical problems on my end. Computers crash, routers burn out, family deaths occur, hospital visits take longer than expected, travel accommodations are different than expected, internet cables are accidentally cut or turned off by the cable company, very occasionally I am too sick to check the messages etc. I ask for your patience and kindness. I would also point out that anyone can create a group here at Groups. I encourage anyone who would like to do things there own way to start their own group. I will even offer my assistance in creating a group for anyone who wants to try regardless of topic. I wish to hear from other members on whether or not you want all messages moderated. Thanks for your time and understanding. =) Robynn -owner > > I don't think it is . THe moderator on THIS group goes through most of it I guess, so it takes a long time, sometimes for them to get posted. IT makes for a lot of inconsistency on answering and reading. I feel if SOME of us are being scrutinized and such a lag time, then ALL should be the same. That way things will be done in a more timely manner, and much easier for the lyme brains to comprehend. > > jim.
Guest guest
Hi Robynn Maybe I'm totally misreading your email, but I was not at all complaining about the group being moderated...I didn't know I was being moderated (do now)...I was just asking if there was something wrong with email or groups because it seemed as if my emails weren't either getting to where they had to go or was acting up. Both have been issues like this before with . My email was not asking if there were issues with this group or its moderation. Guest guest
Robynn, if you put all on moderation and send them thru quickly, maybe you need about two other volunteers to help moderate so that you can all take turns and messages go on quickly. I'm a moderator on two groups that I don't even post on much, but sometimes I get a notice that a message is waiting and if I see that, I check it and send it on thru unless it seems inflammatory. Mostly obviously messages don't get stopped by or others are putting them on through as there are several moderators. > > > > I don't think it is . Guest guest
Robynn: Yes, I think ALL should be moderated if SOME are. Just doesn't make sense to even reply at times. Don't even know if people check out my replies when they are two and three days later. Like tonight, MINE are the only replies from yesterday, the 19th. Everyone elses are from the 20th. Theirs from the 19th were on here yesterday. I am using my account for this group as that is what I mainly use it for. Plus one personal service. I have a hotmail account that I use for 90% of my stuff, but don't want it bottled up with all these emails. I also have two other accounts, but don't want to put this group on them either. I don't know WHY this stupid account won't let me delete older posts on it. I tried many times, and you can only delete EVERYTHING or nothing. And I don't like deleting what I am answering, as then others don't know what the heck you are talking about. I sure don't. So, I guess everyone just has to keep suffering. But even if they would all come through at about the time and order they are sent, it would help, to be sure. At least our Lyme brains wouldn't have to remember for three days what was written. I can't. And most of the time mine come through two or three days after I post them. When one comes through the same day, I am shocked. I have Lyme Aid coming through one of my other accounts in the digest form. But I don't like that at all. Take care, Jim. ### Robynn <Robynn@...> wrote: Jim and group, Yes I can place everyone on moderated status and approve all messages before they go through to the list. Guest guest
Hi Robynn, You said: " I wish to hear from other members on whether or not you want all messages moderated. " My 2 cents: I see no need. We don't get a lot of cranks. I wouldn't want to make any more work for you. ellen - >
Guest guest
rasheedaas quoted Robynn: > " I wish to hear from other members on whether or not you want all > messages moderated. " My vote is to absolutely not put this group on full moderation. That's an extreme thing to do and makes a lot of work for a moderator. Maybe there's a little glitch or personal itch for someone right now. But, this group has run exceptionally well for years under Robynn's care. Regardless of the moderation situation, there *is* a glitch that's been happening for a few days. As I mentioned in a post the other day, t's delaying some people' messages from two hours to half a day. A moderator has the right to put members on temporary or permanent moderation for any number of reasons. Sometimes these things are intuitive when she sees a pattern developing with certain members. Other times there's a blatant problem. I certainly don't speak for Robynn. However, as aa owner/moderator of a very active 1100 member group, and a member of several online moderators forums, I think this group runs very smoothly and that full moderation would just gum things up. The little issues that seem to have popped up can be resolved with individuals involved, and with a great deal of patience with 's glitches. All the best, Deanna
Guest guest
Robynn whenever you have switched some to " moderated' it has been for a short time until things calmed down. as for regularly, please dont put everyone on " moderated " --the time lags will only worsen. This so far is one of the better run sites and Ive never had any issues with editing or deletions here and the very few times I myself was under " moderation " during a heated debate-I did not resent it at all--I did email you for explanation ( smile) but you very graciously and immediately responded! Guest guest
It is already gummed up with some of us long term " regulars " Jim. ### bluesky <bluesky@...> wrote: rasheedaas quoted Robynn: > " I wish to hear from other members on whether or not you want all > messages moderated.
