Guest guest
I really do not want to come off as a jerk , but be what it may it is unsafe to ask this type of thing over the Internet , I would suggest that this mother speak to her doctor and find a child that way or attend Lyme meetings in her area to establish a relationship ..........way too dangerous IMO to ask for such a thing on the internet.there are many groups as well that one could have exchange and make acquaintance that way , I am guessing that the parent has no Internet ?? If I have offended anyone's sensibilities I apologize is this group moderated ?? . B. N. in Mass In a message dated 12/21/2009 2:18:02 P.M. Guest guest
Hi, Its not going to be an easy task .. I know, Ive tried for myself!! So, I think the internet is an okay place to seek this, but with precautions of course. There is always the parent checking the situation out talking to both parent and child .. cking address w/name given etc .. and any other things any one else can think of precautionary things to do...cc
Guest guest
Certainly a valid concern Lizzia. I am well known I think in the lyme community and I expect most people know this email is exactly what it says. But you are correct in assuming it could be problems on either side. It's a sad state of affairs in this world indeed. But you fears are certainly not groundless etc. The mother is planning to vet all the emails and feels comfortable with this. They are also doing some regular snail mail pen pals too. They are very grateful to the folks who have responded. I am assuming the mothers on the other side will be taking similar precautions.
