I'll try one more time. I've begun to wonder if there is a forum where the discussion of antibiotics would be more appropriate. I'd like to see more discussion of Buhner and other alternative treatments and less on antibiotics. I've chosen the alternative route, and do not have the time/energy/inclination to study the various antibiotic options. I hope people can find a place to discuss whatever they have chosen to treat with; I'd just like to reserve the Buhner List for Buhner and related issues. I've been seeing less and less of this lately. jo
Guest guest
I have been on the Buhner protocol for the last 10 months and for one am grateful to be able to exchange experiences with people who are first and foremost committed to their health, which the Buhner approach is supposed to serve. Discussion of all alternatives is welcome as I am considering alternatives. The problem with allopathic medicine is that it is rigid and compartmentalized. I'd hate to see the natural approach become as rigid and exclusive as allopathic medicine. Guest guest
I'm with you too - Jo... I have done the antibiotic route and relapsed...but there are lots of good places to plug into that science with LLMD ABX help and group sharing - I am a new member and wondered if I had the right site. I am two weeks into Andrographis, Cat's Claw and Knotweed.... I do feel like antibiotics have their place and I was glad to have experience with them but now I am wanting to lean on the herbal world. Has anyone experienced diahrrea with Knotweed/resveratrol? I am introducing herbs one week at a time.. My body loves Cat's Claw and is tolerating the Andrographis very well - but have had the runs twice when bringing Knotweed on board.... Thanks J
Guest guest
Right, but some people are taking both antibiotics and Buhner herbs. Even Buhner in his book, says that his herbs are effective when taken along with antibiotics. [ ] Buhner list I've written a couple of times and my post has not come through. I'll try one more time. Guest guest
I'm one of many who are interested in Buhner's protocol but am also taking antibiotics. Perhaps if everyone remembered to change the subject line when starting a new thread or a response that pertains to antibiotics, those not interested in anything having to do with antibiotics could just delete it without reading. Guest guest
Great idea ... just add in the subject line " antibiotics + whatever else they're writing in about. Guest guest
Hello Jo, I'm relatively new to this group and I don't want to step on anyones toes. After much research, my 11 year old daughter just started the Buhner herbs two weeks ago. She's been on antibiotics for 1 year now. I have found much comfort and support in the experience and guidance of this group. I would like to be able ask questions regarding both as they pertain to eachother and would respectfully put that in the subject line, as I have done before.( I'll stop responding about the cat stuff, clearly off buhner topic, but hard to ignore.) I hope this works for all concerned... Respectfully, Aviva On Mar 18, 2010, at 11:04 AM, judyjo27 wrote: > I've written a couple of times and my post has not come through. > I'll try one more time. > > I've begun to wonder if there is a forum where the discussion of > antibiotics would be more appropriate. My body loves Cat's Claw and is tolerating the Andrographis very well - but have had the runs twice when bringing Knotweed on board.... Thanks J this is relatively common with some of the knotweed pills (e.g. one of the Source Naturals versions). The pills have binders that can cause this problem. I few people have reported some gut problems from knotweed bulk powder, but most tolerate this herb very well.
Guest guest
Interesting because I bought Source Naturals Resveratrol and developed diarrhea from that. I could handle that but I also had severe abdominal pain so I stopped. Then I tried Cat's Claw and had similar reaction so I stopped. I even tried Teasel and had similar reaction. Have not tried Andrographis. On a separate note, in all my perusing of the web I thought I saw a tincture called Buhner in a Bottle. Has anyone seen this? > > > > > Has anyone experienced diahrrea with Knotweed/resveratrol? I am introducing herbs one week at a time.. Guest guest
PS: You opened my eyes about the need for a place to talk about the interface of abx and herbs. The suggestion to put abx in the heading is a good one. We do talk about things beyond Buhner, other alternative choices, and I want to continue that. Perhaps being more mindful of how appropriate a topic is will keep us 'mostly buhner.' Best Wishes, jo > > I've written a couple of times and my post has not come through. > I'll try one more time. > > I've begun to wonder if there is a forum where the discussion of antibiotics would be more appropriate. Guest guest
I agree, Buhner actually recommends concurrent use of abx in Healing Lyme. - Re: [ ] Buhner list > Hello Jo, > I'm relatively new to this group and I don't want to step on anyones > toes. Guest guest
Hi , I know, I remembered reading in his book that he thought his core protocol worked well with abx. I'm doing abx but I also take cat's claw every day and I'm about to incorporate knotweed in as well.
