Guest guest
Hi, I've been building up the core protocol for over a month now, and here's where I'm at: Andro 3 tabs 3x day JK (source naturals resveratrol) 2tabs 3x day Cat's Claw 2 caps 3x day I also take some sarsparilla 1 cap 3x day and red root tincture, and milk thistle I am feeling just awful, and seem to be getting steadily worse. Aside from a big depression-style herx near the beginning, it has just been steadily awful. I get weaker and more lethargic and foggy, gone back to not working at all the past couple weeks, and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. What I'd like to know, is when can someone expect to begin feeling ANY BETTER on this protocol? I hear people talking about staying on amounts of the herbs at about what i am taking, for months and years on end. If i had to do that, and it keeps making me feel the way i do now, I can kiss my life good-bye. I was not well when i began the protocol, but i just feel worse and worse. I need to know there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Buhner talks about starting to feel better in about three weeks, but there is no sign of that happening for me. I don't even know whether how bad i feel comes from the herbs or the Lyme or something else at this point. How can I tell? Can anyone give me any helpful information based upon their experience? How long did it take you to start to feel a turn-around? Were you dealing with adrenal problems? Are there people who just can't take the effects of these herbs, and don't get better on them? Then what? thanks for any help, NJ
Guest guest
Dear NJ, Sorry to hear you are not doing well.--- I can offer some comments about my experience, altho everyone is different. I started feeling better almost immediately. (weeks). My maximum was 4 of each of the core protocol 3 times a day. It took 3 months til I could feel an appreciable difference, and then I would say another 3 til I felt absolutely well. I know some people stay on the herbs for much longer. Since you say you are feeling worse, I wonder if you have considered treatment by a doctor or a naturalpath who is familiar with herbs? There are some natural practitioners out there who are familiar with Buhner's protocol, if you want to continue with that. Also at Planet Thrive [http://planetthrive.com/] you can ask Buhner a question directly. Also he (Buhner) has - or at least he used to have - an herbologist who works with him and with people directly one-on-one via phone I believe (for a fee). It sounds to me that you need some more input from the experts. I was lucky. It worked for me. But if it is not working, perhaps more help is needed. It's tough to go on your own. I'm truly hoping you find some way to lick this disease. Don't give up. There is a way. You will find it. Guest guest
Ellen, i appreciate your comments. But you say: > I started feeling better almost immediately. > and thenyou say: > It took 3 months til I could feel an appreciable difference This seems a contradiction to me. How can you start feeling better almost immediately, and still take 3 months to feel an appreciable difference? I don't understand what you mean, could you please explain? thanks agian, NJ
Guest guest
Yes, I can see where that sounds contradictory! What I mean is, that in a matter of weeks on the Buhner protocol (which I call immediate) I could see improvement, enough to know that things were getting better, whether it was in my energy level, in my walking ability. It was slow and gradual but I could see improvement. After 3 months, I was walking un-assisted by cane and for a longer distance, and my headaches were gone, so that is when I date some real difference from. Hope that helps explain. I should add [don't remember if I said this before]- after 3 months I stopped Buhner's herbs to see how I would feel, and the pain in my knee/leg started coming back, so I started taking Esberitox ( a super-charged form of Echinacae). I took that for another 3 weeks, and after that I was ok. I understand from being on this group that my experience may not be typical. Wishing you well, ellen >
Guest guest
I agree with those who suggested you consult with an herbalist and/or Buhner--just as we all may have various food intolerances we can as well have problems with herbs and meds etc--it MAY be that one or a few of the herbs arent " right " for you...or that you need to stick with it longer due to a larger bacterial load also an herbalist/ LLMD and or natural meds dr can adjust your nutritional status, correct for deficiencies which make healing harder if not impossible and maybe give you additional things to help individual sx..so its more bearable anytime things get steadily worse its better to have a professional consulting with you--even if its a long " herx " etc--the body may need other supportive measures.not always is dabbling on ones own safe or recommended--herbs ARE medicines, maybe gentler or more easily handled by the body but nonetheless have to be respected as MEDICINES--if any medicine made you feel that way youd hopefully consult with a professional! once youre familiar with how you react, and the patterns of your sx, then you can go it alone more often!! good luck Finette
Guest guest
Thanks Finette and everybody, some good things you say. But I AM working with a LLMD who knows the Buhner protocol. So i'm not going it alone, as several people are saying -- thought for sure i mentioned that. I'm taking many supplements too. Wish he could make it better, but unfortunately that's not happening.
