Guest guest
-- I am a patient, not a medical professional, but my guess, after reading about the use of Buhner herbs, would be that 6 years of symptoms does not qualify you for recent infection, and that astralagus would probably be contraindicated at this point. -- Robin **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)
Guest guest
I have disagree with Robin's response....I had/have chronic lyme and I found astraglus very helpful in eliminating babesia. I used astragalus along with codonopsis and artemesia annua L as a babesia regime and it helped eliminate my babesia symptoms. I think the best way to decided on any herb or med is to try it and write down symptoms or lack of symptoms. Short term use of astragalus should not hurt you and everyone is different so it may help. I am ever so grateful for Mr. Buhner but he is not a doctor.... not that that means anything as so many doctors are clueless....I just say that because nothing is set in stone....and you are your own best advocate. I wouldn't use it alone but it works great in combination with codonopsis and artemesia in a tea form. Good luck...
Guest guest
>Hello there, As you've been symptomatic that long and have neurological symptoms, i would say that Astragalus is not the right herb for you: CP herbs including Andrographis, Cat's Claw, Japanese knotweed and Sarsaparilla would be more appropriate at this stage, adding in others for sympoms specific to you. Some people like to start the herbs one at a time, so that, if one doesn't agree with you, you stand a good chance of isolating the culprit! You can search here to see people's opinions as to which to start first. If you don't already know, has an Ask the Exxpert column on www.Planetthrive.com, which is incredibly helpful, so you could put your question directly to him there. Good luck, Carolyn > Hi everyone. Guest guest
you are definitely late stage Lyme after all this time. Especially if the abx haven't gotten rid of it. I have had it since 99. Also late stage. Chronic. Jim. ### theincrediblejy <jyork@...> wrote: Hi everyone. Guest guest
Robin, That was my suspicion as well. I guess I'll hold off on the astragalus for awhile and see how the protocol goes. Thanks for the help. > > -- I am a patient, not a medical professional, but my guess, after > reading about the use of Buhner herbs, would be that 6 years of symptoms does > not qualify you for recent infection, and that astralagus would probably be > contraindicated at this point. -- Robin > >
Guest guest
Carolyn, Adding the herbs in one at a time is sound advice and most likely what I'll end up doing. Maybe I'll throw the astragalus after I've been on all the others for a while. Thanks for the advice and the info on planetthrive.com. Having Buhner answer questions directly will be a huge help. Many thanks. > >Hello there, > > As you've been symptomatic that long and have neurological symptoms, i > would say that Astragalus is not the right herb for you: CP herbs > including Andrographis, Cat's Claw, Japanese knotweed and Sarsaparilla > would be more appropriate at this stage, adding in others for sympoms > specific to you. > Some people like to start the herbs one at a time, so that, if one > doesn't agree with you, you stand a good chance of isolating the > culprit! You can search here to see people's opinions as to which to > start first. > If you don't already know, has an Ask the Exxpert column on > www.Planetthrive.com, which is incredibly helpful, so you could put > your question directly to him there. > > Good luck, >

Guest guest
I also disagree! I don't think everyone chronic has necessarily a T1 dominance. I talked to Buhner about that long ago, he said at the time he wrote the book, those were the articles he found. There are many articles now saying many patients are in fact T2 dominant. Many lyme sufferers report that in lymenet. I suspect because of coinfections, but who knows? Astragalus has been a very useful herb for me too. I'm on it now and my first tick bite was in 2005. Guest guest
I use astragalus also, and it really helps me. I definitely have late stage lyme. Love, Jnanda

Guest guest
I am not so sure one way or the other for Astragalus. I had late Lyme when I started taking herbs, so didn't use Astragalus. However after almost two years, I started taking a small dose of it each day, (two pills a day), as a preventitive to future bites in the tick season this fall. I am still taking it, however, I have noticed a return of my original symptoms of the pain in my left knee tendons. I don't know WHAT that pain is being caused from exactly, but sure don't like it. I am going to quit the Astragalus for the winter, and see how it all goes. Guest guest
The only real difference I have noticed since taking Astragalus with my chronic Lyme is that my leg symptoms have come back on me lately. The pain in my left knee tendons, which was pretty much gone for the longest time. This was my first symptom way back in 99 and went away. Now it is back. Darn. Guest guest
Dear Jim: Don't you think it might be from die-off. Doesn't the pain get worse before it gets better? Guest guest
Heidi: Not sure WHAT you are addressing here, since there is no email below yours. But yes, sometimes it can get worse before it gets better. But I have found that when I started the Buhner herbs, I noticed great improvements in a few days without any worse pain. You do NOT have to herx, if THAT is what you are getting at. Jim. ### Ambitionn01@... wrote: Dear Jim: Don't you think it might be from die-off. Doesn't the pain get worse before it gets better?
